[MOPO] Posters wanted

2014-11-07 Thread Posteritati
Hi,

We are looking for any posters on these films:

The Fall of Otrar (Gibel Otrara) by Ardak Amirkulov (1991). Released in the
U.S. in the early 2000's I'm pretty sure. Maybe 2003.

Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors by Sergei Parajanov (1964).

Thanks.

Re: [MOPO] [FA] Rebel Rousers (1970) and a question

2014-11-07 Thread David Rew

A little more sleuthing...

Seems the seller has a letter (to her father-in-law) dated Sept 1984, on
Trans-Continental Film Corp letterhead which simply states:

/Ron Brown has suggested I forward the enclosed posters. Hoping to hear
from you in this connection/

The letter is signed Larry Joachim, and here is he:
http://variety.com/2014/film/people-news/larry-joachim-distributor-of-kung-fu-films-dies-at-88-1201022509/

All I could find on Trans-Continental Film Corp was here
http://www.imdb.com/company/co0040232/?ref_=fn_al_co_7, and it seems
they were a USA distributor and they seemed to specialise in martial
arts films, and that seems to link tidily with the other posters this
sellers has (that arrived came with the letter):

Makes me wonder now too if this is not a re-issue (re-release) but a
1976 first release for the international market of this title hence
with a title change. The poster might very well be a first
release international version. This is getting even more interesting.

I also should have said this is a re-titled R-1976 poster
with a title change. It was made to promote Rebel Rousers

A poster has been listed and I wonder if anyone can shed
some light on it because the title on the poster is not
what the film was.

Rather than explain it twice, click on the image to view
the listing and the seller's description.

2014-11-07 Thread David Rew
With the Aussie dollar at a four year low, are you sure you want to miss
out on this amazing deal?!

One sold on eBay for USD$1,200 in New York just two weeks ago and
another is currently up for sale in Sydney for $1,950 (Josef Lebovic
Gallery).

Although bidding has started it is still a little short of the reserve.
Bid now, grab a bargain (click the image)
