[MOPO] We already have well over 500 consignments for our August Major Auction!

2023-05-18 Thread Bruce Hershenson
*eMoviePoster.com's April Major Auction recently ended, and we already have
received well over 500 consignments for our August Major Auction! We already
have well over 500 items consigned for our August Major Auction, which runs
from August 13th to November 3rd, and we have pictured just a few of the
confirmed items in it
at https://www.emovieposter.com/learnmore/?page=consign_major#2023august
Why
consign NOW, when the auction is a few months away? I am glad you asked! You
want to get your items sent NOW, because we always take the first example
of each item we receive, so you can guarantee your items WILL be in the
auction by sending them now (unless of course, we somehow already have
it).And if you send rare and desirable items now, you may well see them in
future preview ads, which gets your items a lot of extra exposure, which
may get you lots of extra money! Why not contact us today with what you
have? And you know how lots of major auction catalogs look like museum
exhibitions, not only because they are filled with ultra-expensive items,
but also because very little seems to ever sell? It all SEEMS to sell, but
more often than not the very same items come back to auction again and
again again! That's why eMoviePoster.com auctions are such a breath of fresh
air! Every major auction we have lots of items that we have either never
auctioned before, or have not auctioned for decades. And quite often those
items don't return to the auction block for many years if ever! ALL of the
below items WILL be in our August Major Auction, all starting at $1, with
no reserves and NONE of those dreadful "buyers premiums"!*

Re: [MOPO] WOW!! PROPSTORE SHIPPING QUOTE!!

2023-05-18 Thread Greg Douglass
I won a folded insert yesterday. Even with the buyer's premium it turned out to be on the low end of the normal price for this title, I opted to go with USPS Priority shipping at around $26.00. Shipping charges everywhere are skyrocketing due to fuel prices (and Louis DeJoy when it comes to the post office).

But Todd: good lord! $121.00 for an unbacked 3 sheet?

Did you scroll down to the USPS prices?

I'm sure you'll hear back from Grey after the insanity of the auction is over. You're a well-respected member of the collecting community.

Greg Douglass

PS: I checked out the sold prices last night on some of the lots. Even with the 25% Buyer's  Fee there were some...I won't say "bargains"...but very reasonable prices on some desirable items. ("Desirable" being a very subjective term, of course.)

Recently 6 lobby cards from emovieposter was $18.24 via ups ..which is ok ..more than double that for a single card seems really out there

hello Todd, Grey and mopo
I'm not sure exactly what everyone's talking about but I assume it's
exorbitant shipping costs added to the end of sale sales in recent years
the shipping has gotten more outrageous of a cost to cost of goods
factor I've been totally surprised how the shipping industry has gone
out of control
One thing I did with my business what is the amortize cost of goods and
shipping into the overall sale price
How are UPS and FedEx work if you're a volume shipper is they have
different tiers of shipping
Depending on the volume of shipping you do I would suggest to any poster
seller to get a personal representative from UPS or FedEx and discuss
terms of discounts for volume shipping also check on other vendors in
the shipping business that's why eBay can I offer shipping and other
platforms can I offer lower shipping cost

I would think that the auction houses make their profit margin off the
sales of the items by getting a commission on the goods and also if they
have a buyers premium that can be added I would suggest shipping be a
certain percentage well explained in detail as it appears that many
buyers are getting remorseful feelings to bid

This inflationary. We are all witnessing even to buy food and basic
staples is getting extremely weird I ordered some groceries and was
shocked to see how much I got for about 100 bucks

Yeah as I speak the government is talking about raising the debt ceiling
for the entire country because the US government has run out of money
I wish you all well I am completely confused by how people are trading
in business it's very hard to find integrity and honesty these days I
just had some plumbing work done in my home and the guy broke my
plumbing and I'm having to pay to get it fixed at my expense which seems
crazy to me
What is the way of the world right now and appears to be getting worse
as time proceeds
lets pray for peace, balance and sensible calm in all business and
sectors
God bless all.
I wish all well
