Re: [MOPO] Cinerama Wonderful World of Brothers Grimm SOUTH SEA ADVENTURE CINERAMA

2010-08-30 Thread Kirby McDaniel
Here is the poster. There was at least one locally produced one sheet for this
film.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/movieart-austin/4942408279/

We are always looking for good CINERAMA material. I would love to find a good
U.S. poster for
SEARCH FOR PARADISE. And I would like to find another one sheet like this one.
 Also, any large
format CINERAMA paper.

I definitely had one for South Sea Adventure. It had a the New York
theatre's name imprinted on the one sheet. I'm sure Kirby remembers this
because he was with me when we found the poster in Las Vegas. It was a
folded one sheet and I was surprised because I'd only seen window cards and
jumbo window cards on the documentaries. If I find a photo of it, I'll send
 it to you.

Grey -- That is one of the very hardest Cinerama posters to find. You will
see many of the general release non-Cinerama one-sheets for GRIMM (without
the Cinerama fanfold design on the poster) out there, but not this one.
I've only had it once in 25 years. Of course, the early three strip
posters (from the documentaries in the fifties) are the hardest to find.
On these, I've only had a one sheet for SOUTH SEA ADVENTURE.

2010-08-30 Thread channinglylethomson

8/30/2010

I'm about to post a linen-backed CUSTER OF THE WEST one-sheet on
EBAY. Currently have Cinerama one-sheets for KRAKATOA and KHARTOUM on
EBAY as well and a mini-window card/counter standee for CIRCUS WORLD
and a window card for THE BEST OF CINERAMA. None of these are from
that guy who had all those repro window cards a few months ago on EBAY.

2010-08-30 Thread Roland Lataille
With all this talk about Cinerama maybe this would be a good its time for
someone who has a large collection of Cinerama roadshow items (3-D postcards,
ticket flyers, movie programs, lobby cards, movie posters, etc.), to put them
out for sale in an auction. I think there is something for every Cinerama film
released.
