I just obtained four authentic rolled posters from a relation of Sir Run Run Shaw literally hand carried aboard a flight from HONG KONG As you know he and his brother formed Shaw Brothers Releasing and were responsible for the production of some 200 Kung Fu films of which a handful have ascended into cult status and influenced many a director, cinematographer and writer, the most notable being Quentin Tarantino. As these pieces require a knowledge and appreciation most likely not found on Ebay, I thought I would give the learned assembly of MOPO first opportunity to these rare pieces. 1. THE 36TH CHAMBER OF SHAOLIN '71 $550
2. THE KID WITH THE GOLDEN ARMS '79 $400
4. BOXER FROM SHANTUNG '72 $450 Kill Bill Volumes 1 & 2 have scenes heavily influenced from the above 4 films. In the film notes of both DVDs, Tarantino refers to Shaw Brothers Films on several occasions and specifically titles 1 & 3. Further title #4 BOXER FROM SHANTUNG which by the way the assistant director was none other than John Woo, starred Gordon Liu. In Kill Bill II Liu plays the character Pai Mei, a character that was introduced in Boxer From Shangtung a remarkable bit of stunt casting. Anyway posters are authentic, have been stored away for nearly 25 years and are mint. Price includes shipping to anywhere in the world and available on a first emailed first served basis. The prices may seem arresting but there is scant supply of these titles in circulation presently and in mint, rolled condition quite impossible. freeman fisher
