Michael, I guess you got a point. Do you think that the 50's science fiction film makers meant to make movies that reflected social anxiety about the atom bomb? Of course not, but how in the hell do you think those bugs got so big! Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, but in this case a snake is a lot more than a cigar. Hi all, Actually, I'm thinking it might be kind of interesting as a broad metaphor for fears about terrorism and air travel. And the latest aborted attack: just their luck! That stuttering ad is kind of dumb though. Michael, Good Luck! I don't think Hollywood execs are that deep. Actually, when I first heard about a movie coming out, called Snakes on a Plane, and knew NOTHING else about, I thought to myself 'wow what a great and intriguing title, like Trees Lounge, or Reservoir Dogs, I wonder what this one is all about' ? You can imagine how disappointed I was when I found out that IT IS actually about ..snakes on a plane. Deep, real deep. Both the NY Times and SLATE magazine, two on line rags I respect highly for certain things like movies and reporting on the end of the civilized world as we know it, both gave it rave reviews...Slate called it the best post 9/11 film yet and the points drawn out of the film made for interesting debate. freeman fisher8601 west knoll drive #7west hollywood, ca90069 Visit the MoPo Mailing List Web Site at www.filmfan.com ___ How to UNSUBSCRIBE from the MoPo Mailing List Send a message addressed to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] In the BODY of your message type: SIGNOFF MOPO-L The author of this message is solely responsible for its content.
