Re: [MOPO] Want to watch a REALLY good movie, but you could use some help?

2021-06-01 Thread allen day
I looked over the list and came up with several omissions:

Aliens .. arguably one of the few instances where the sequel is actually
better
2 Mules for Sister Sara .. Clint Eastwood is an industry
Million Dollar Baby .. Go Clint go
Greatest Showman .. I don't care for musicals, but my wife changed my mind
once I saw this wonderful piece
West Side Story .. see above
Constantine
Hellboy
City of Lost Children
Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid

Quite a few on the list I have not seen

Re: [MOPO] Want to watch a REALLY good movie, but you could use some help?

2021-06-01 Thread Colin Hunter
That’s a very impressive selection, with an embarrassingly large number still
on my must-see-when-I-have-time list. There are very few with which I disagree,
but surely the only list “The Greatest Show on Earth” (1952) belongs on is that
of most undeserving winners of the Oscar for Best Picture.

So, replace “The Greatest Show on Earth” with Hero (2002) and Cloud Atlas (a
neglected masterpiece in my opinion) and I think we have a list.
