Re: [MOPO] RON BORST/HOLLYWOOD MOVIE POSTERS

2020-01-30 Thread Glenn Taranto
Adding my Ditto to the Borst belt kudos! He and Margaret are two of the
swellest people ever.

I'm one of the lucky folks who have had the opportunity to see Ron and
Margaret's house, from the inside! I thought seen Louis Leithold's
collection in person was overwhelming. I can only say I never expected to
see a six sheet displayed in someone's home.

Ron and I have a running disagreement, I say the advance one sheet for
Universal's 1931 INVISIBLE MAN is more intriguing than the actual release
poster.

Is there anything that exists in the horror genre he doesn't own? Maybe.
Either way? Simply astounding!

Agree, Jim.

A great article on a genuine and sincere poster seller and collector.
One of the rare ones in the hobby.

You know Ron has one of the greatest collections in the world and he is just
one of the nicest, most humblest people in our hobby. I have known him for
almost 50 years myself and he is always willing to help any collector with his
vast knowledge. Just one of the greats in our hobby!

Great article -
Kind of makes me want to collect movie posters.

As I remember, I connected with Ron nearly 50 years ago on the pages of that
analog newsprint beauty, Movie Collector’s World.
At 21 or so, I was selling Mint Psycho inserts for $20 each pulled out of the
trash on Film Row in Charlotte, N.C. -
(Found 20 of them!)

When I saw Star Wars in 1977 and left home to make my pilgrimage to Hollywood,
Ron was one of the few people I knew out here and he was very welcoming.

Thanks -

Alan
