[mou-net] Lesser Black-backed Gull---Lake Calhoun
(Posted by Andrew D. Smithvia moumn.org) Just had a phone call from Dave Pavlik, and he reports an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull, as well as 2 Thayer's Gulls from the south end of Lake Calhoun. He'll be there until dark should anyone wish some assistance finding the birds. [mou-net] Lesser Black-backed Gull - Lake Calhoun, Hennepin County
There was a first-cycle Lesser Black-backed Gull near the floating dock on Lake Calhoun, Minneapolis late this afternoon. It was very cooperative as it bathed for nearly the entire observation time. Also present were a few Thayer's Gulls, including the darker-mantled individual reported by Paul Budde last week, plus around 200 Herring Gulls and 400 Ring-billed Gulls. A nice evening to scan the lake with low winds and most birds reasonably near the western shore.
