Latest nightly's of Mozilla not good for mail/usenet

2002-03-04 Thread Bundy

The last couple of nightly's seems have to a problem with the
mail/usenet reader losing focus to other programs I will be typing a
message, send it and all the sudden either another program will pop-up
or the Mozilla itself will pop-up, putting the email/usenet client in
the background The latest is build 2002030403

And maybe it is just me but these latest builds also seem to be slower

That's nothing new, although I'd agree that it does seem to be getting
worse

It's hard for me to tell the difference between snail-speed and
turtle-speed, so I'll defer to your judgement on that It's still the
single-biggest memory hog running on my system by an almost 20MB margin

I see that sometimes as well - the popping over

or if I have multiple windows open, minimizing them all causes the
browser window to pop up in a non-maximized state

speedwise, it's never been better - make 098 look like a snail as
compared to a F-16

I have on this system running XP had netscapeexe taking 72meg of memory
with only a java based website running and mail/usenet client open Moz
appears to be better but by the time Netscape gets their hands on it, I
suspect it will be just as bad on memory

Later tonight, I will run some speed test Mozilla 98+ 2002030403 build
vs Explorer and will publish the results

Eh Most of the developers working on Mozilla are Netscape employees
Doesn't this qualify as getting their hands on it?

Today's 2002022703 does not pop over and does not minimize as previous
build or two However, the multiple article hiliting is back, arrrgghh

Also, the focusing snafu seems to be gone Has not done it so far

And I agree, the last several builds have been quite snappy

I see that sometimes as well - the popping over

Gone in today's latest build

or if I have multiple windows open, minimizing them all causes the
browser window to pop up in a non-maximized state

See above
