Doe the new hours of the libraries in the Mpls
Public Library seem fair for all??

MINNEAPOLIS: City's library system forced to shorten hours
BY DAVID HAWLEY
Pioneer Press

Those who need to use the downtown library in
Minneapolis next year will find it open every
day except Sunday, but morning hours will be rare
and the library will have evening hours until
7 p.m. only on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The shortened hours are part of a new schedule
announced Tuesday that reduces hours by 30 percent
in all of the city's 14 operating libraries. It
reflects the significant decrease in state funding
for Minneapolis that last week prompted the library's
board to authorize a 25 percent reduction in staff
and shorter hours.
