[mssms] Remote controlling a server and observing the logged on user

Is there a way using CM remote control to a Windows Server to view the session
of the logged on user rather than it displaying the unused session?

[mssms] Last patch and last reboot date

I would like to generate a report of last patch date and last reboot date\time
for all systems. Is there any query which gives such output in SCCM report?

Also is there any way to find client's service status after reboot by using
query?

Thanks in advance,

and if the disc is bitlockered (encrypted) you can't read from the disc in
WinPE. (not the case in Windows)

A New computer scenario won't care about users data and wipes the disc so
disabling Bitlocker is not an issue,

On the Apply operating system image step, click on the options tab and make

There was a bug that caused this to apply the image twice but I belive it

[mssms] Upgraded from 2012 RTM to 2012 R2, OSD broke - ccmcore.dll is missing

2014-04-23 Thread Andrew Berges
I recently upgraded my lab from 2012 RTM to SP1 and then to R2 (including
the Cumulative Update 1 for R2), also installing MDT 2013, upgrading the
Distribution Share, re-integrated with Configuration Manager, and generated
new boot images. I attached the new boot images to my existing deployment
task sequence and OSD seemed to be working until I reached the Setup
Windows and Configuration Manager step and it rebooted. When the reboot
completed into the Windows OS to continue the task sequence, the relevant
driver package installed and the Configuration Manager client was
downloaded and presumably successfully installed. That's when the Task
Sequence progress bar disappears, and I'm left with a dialog window titled
TSMBootstrap.exe which states:

The program can't start because ccmcore.dll is missing from your
computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I saw this post here (
http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/7418-sccm-2012-sp1-ccmcoredll-missing/),
but I've already added the Network Access Account and SCCMSERVER$ to
SMS_site_code with NTFS Read and Execute permissions as well as Read
permissions on the share itself.

Anyone seen this before? Am I going about this all wrong?

Thanks in Advance,

Andrew

[mssms] Does anyone have a list of Dell models and BIOS requirements for WOL?

2014-04-23 Thread Murray, Mike
Rather than going through every one of our models, I was hoping someone out
there might already have compiled a list of Dell models and the BIOS version
required for wake on LAN to work properly. For example, the OptiPlex 9020 won't
wake up unless you are running BIOS version A02, but the one I tested had A03.
I tried upgrading to the latest, it still didn't work. Once I downgraded to
A02, it worked.

Subject: [mssms] Does anyone have a list of Dell models and BIOS requirements
for WOL?

Rather than going through every one of our models, I was hoping someone out
there might already have compiled a list of Dell models and the BIOS version
required for wake on LAN to work properly. For example, the OptiPlex 9020 won't
wake up unless you are running BIOS version A02, but the one I tested had A03.
I tried upgrading to the latest, it still didn't work. Once I downgraded to
A02, it worked.

Re: [mssms] Upgraded from 2012 RTM to 2012 R2, OSD broke - ccmcore.dll is missing

2014-04-23 Thread Andrew Berges
Thanks for the reply Jason. The sole DP shows as successfully distributed.
Client.msi etc shows a date stamp of 9/11/2013 and the client bits on the
system indicate a version number of 5.00.7958.1000, so it appears it is
installing the R2 agent (although not the CU1, but that's a separate matter
to address). Ccmsetup.log and client.msi.log show the installation as
completing successfully as well.

The image I am trying to deploy contains an RTM version of the
Configuration Manager client rather than the SP1 client or R2 client. Could
this in any way be responsible for the error?

Regards,

Andrew

 Andrew

Yes, I certainly wouldn’t rule it out.

[mssms] Package in TS causing constant policy updates/errors in policypv.log

2014-04-23 Thread Daniel Ratliff
Before opening a call with Premiere or 1E, I wanted to see if anyone has any
ideas here. I made a change to a task sequence around 2pm today causing a
policy update for a certain package CAS006AD and since then we have seen the
following updates/errors in policypv.log pretty much constantly. This is
causing machines to not get any task sequences when booting up for OSD.
Software distribution is fine. I have connected to our CAS and both primaries,
verified I can open the package, make program settings, change 1E Nomad
settings, etc but the errors continue and policy updates continue.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? Logs below are from one of our two
primaries.
