Arranger IV (update and possible errors)

1999-05-07 Thread Manuel Bilderbeek

Hallo out there!

The music-disk "Arranger IV, The UndisCOVERED Country" was released on
Tilburg by Zodiac/Allosoft. Because of a nasty bug, the Program play
option could not be finished in time. Therefore this option was
disabled. Ofcourse we told this to the people who bought it. We are
planning to release an update which will enable the Program play option.
In the update, we will also correct some bugs we found later, and maybe
we will implement somewhat better graphics, but that's not sure yet.
This update will be programmed by Ruud, but since he will be on holidays
for some time, it will probably not be finished before half June 1999.
Therefore, we ask you to be patient...

We still have to decide whether the update will be downloadable from
Manuel Bilderbeek's MSX page and the Arranger Homepage or only be sent
via e-mail. Therefore it would be handy if everyone who bought Arranger
IV mailed me ([EMAIL PROTECTED], better: also Cc:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]), so we know where to send the update to, if we
decide not to put it on the WWW.

Then, a sadder fact: I discovered that Fastcopy 3.0 isn't 100% reliable
(because of older diskdrives?), which resulted in some bad copies. These
copies give errors like Disk Offline and Disk I/O Error. The disk itself
is fine (Fuji!), but Fastcopy didn't format the disks well, seemingly.
We ask people who have problems like this to mail us too, so we can find
a solution for that. The simplest solution is that they wait until the
update is finished and then they'll recieve all the Arranger files via
e-mail. The files can then be copied on the original disk after being
formatted. (Formatting removes the errors, in this case.) If you don't
like this, we can find another solution for you.

We are sorry for the inconvenience! But please mail us if you have any
problems described as above.

If there is any news, it will be posted in the newsgroup (comp.sys.msx)
and sent through the MSX Mailinglist. It will also be mentioned on
Manuel Bilderbeek's MSX Page, Activities section
(http://www.sci.kun.nl/marie/home/manuelbi/msx.html#activ).

The program for creating disk image files is not inetrface dependant; it
works with MegaSCSI, with IDE, and with any other! The problem is to
emulate these images, not to create them!
