MSX-DOS 2 (not compatable with DOS1??)

1999-08-07 Thread twz

hee ppl.

As you might know, TeddyWareZ is doing a project called
SCC-BLAFFER NT.. I use all BDOS routines, so I thought
it would work with a DOS2 cartridge inserted.. But it
doesn't... Is the BDOS in DOS2 different then the BDOS
in the MSX itself?? I just don't get it, cause I don't
have experience whatsoever using DOS2. I thought it
would be downwards compatable.. Is that *NOT* true??
And how can I get things going using DOS2??

I use all the BDOS routines which refer to writing and
reading blocks. (not the sector part.). So can someone
please tell me how to get things going, and maybe even
supply me with some good docs about DOS2???

thnx.
d-fader^TwZ.

Phoenix Project - NEWS

1999-08-07 Thread Rafael Corrales Pulido

  Hello MSX friends,

I took one week for my holidays and I got yesterday 689 new messages from
this ML, too much for one day, I have tried to read everything about your
opinions, suggestions or collaborations refering to Phoenix and I have some
conclusions and collaborators

First of all, now Funet has a Phoenix directory, this will be neccesary to
upload or download routines, BIOS updates, etc...of hardware developed under
Phoenix rules.

It is neccesary to create a new Phoenix Mailing List, because MSX Mailing
List has too much messages, the hardware developers have not enough time to
read messages, so a specifical ML is needed.

The Phoenix WEB will be the main part, here we can put all the hardware
developers links, the Phoenix rules, a link to the funet directory and a
button for be suscribed to the Phoenix ML, this page must have all the MSX
documents, Z80, Z380, YM2413, V99xx specifications...

If a hardware developer does not speak english or he has not Internet
access, I think a friend can be his Internet access and translator, but I
want to have ready all the Phoenix rules, and the structure in Internet
before contacting with all the hardware developers.

 Bye,

It is neccesary to create a new Phoenix Mailing List, because MSX Mailing

I recently discovered a cool Internet service called eGroups. They provide
free mailing list services to make it easier for people like us to find,
manage and participate in mail lists. Each list also has access to eGroup's
other services, including storage (great for storing Phoenix related files),
private chat rooms, Clendars (we can put FairLists in there) and more. To
top it off, it's the best service I've seen to host and manage an email
list!

Check it out at http://www.egroups.com.

Oh, and if you decide to sign up, please enter my email address in the
"Referred By" field when creating the group!
