eZ80 main target group is the embedded software. For such appliances
(microwaves, laundry machines, cars, smartcards, etc), having a TCP/IP stack
in hardware can be very interesting... It can make the OS more lean and mean
which is very important for embedded software.

But ofcourse, having a source code available for a 'new' cpu, so that you can
build it directly into your embedded OS is also very convenient.

I have just tried it on my MSX turbo R and indeed, it seems like the pause is
postponed until an entire sector is read. Even in Z80 mode. I should have
tried it before sending my previous message...

I have also checked the MSX turbo R datasheets. The pause key does not go
straight to the Z80. Instead, it goes to the S1990. Which is also connected
to some control lines of the floppy disk controller. And the Z80 gets the
wait signal from the S1990. So it seems that the S1990 does not pause the Z80
as long as the floppy disk controller is busy.

Interesting to see what would happen with an external floppy disk interface.
The S1990 can not know when an external diskrom accesses an external floppy...

Is there anybody living near Brussel, near Leiden or near Horn (in Limburg,
NL), who has an external floppy interface, so we can test it?

Kind regards,
Alex Wulms

fMSX for the FM-Towns O/S

1999-09-26 Thread TFH/Fony

Hello you all!

Just to everyone know that after searching for a long, long time I finally
found the FM-Towns port of fMSX. The latest official version is V1.5, but I
even found a version from Mai '97 I didn't know about... Since there is no
documentation for it, I don't know what to think of it.. Seems like some
kind of Beta..
They are both downloadable at: http://www.file-hunter.com

Anyway... From what I saw, FM-Towns seems to be some kind of a
Linux-clone... I also don't know exactly how or what, but this is what I
think after seeing tons of Japanese sites :-) If anyune can fill me in, or
supply me with some more info regarding fMSX for fm-towns, please feel free
to contact me anytime at: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
