What is the difference between basic v2.0 and v2.1?

The only difference I know is the 'call Ramdisk(size)' command.
In v2.0 you cound enter a size in kb, wich sometimes made
some trouble.

Basic v2.1 only allowed 'call Ramdisk(0)' to destroy it and
'call Ramdisk' to allocate all free mapper-space as ram-disk.

The later BASIC versions e.g. v3.0 were set upon then v2.0
ramdisk-command.

You can verify this bug with Compile´s Randar 2 which won´t
work on v2.1 until you correct the call-Statement in the autoexec.bat-file.

ttly,
Herbert Kloseck

Ramdisk command (_ramdisk()) in basic v2.x) ??
Never heard of it.

AFAIK _ramdisk is strictly enabled under DOS2.

You are sure you don´t mix it with _memini or something like that if memory serves,
this allowed to use 32K or less of conventional, not mapper memory for storage.

It seems that those technical manuals have nice graphics that can be
useful to

Yes, I think that in Europe there a lot of MSX2+ and MSXturboR owners
that haven't got the user's manuals of their machines.

KUN basic has nothing to do with MSX BASIC versions. It is a separate
product. Which is apparently used as an OEM extension by Sanyo.

MSX BASIC versions that I'm aware of:
1.0: The MSX1 system
2.x: The MSX2 system. Do not know the difference between subversions
3.x The MSX2+ system. Do not know if there are multiple subversions
4.x: The MSX turbo R system. I know that the GT contains 4.1. Do not know if
the ST contains 4.0 or that 4.0 never existed.

And as far as KUN-BASIC is concerned: there are two versions. Version 1,
which is compatible with MSX2 and version 2, which is compatible with MSX2+.

Kind regards,
Alex Wulms
