Re: New .Dsk image manager
Cool tool, I needed this. However it doesn't look exactly right on Windows XP... Erm the entire window contents can be scrolled a little (and resizing doesn't help)... I'll send you a screenshot. ~Grauw - Original Message - From: JP Grobler [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: MSX Mailinglist [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, March 09, 2002 5:24 PM Subject: New .Dsk image manager Hi I just released my DSK image manager. GUI test
Hi, There is a thing I want MSXers opinion to decide if I should continue this work or not. At http://uzix.sf.net/test/xuzix.zip there is a diskimage of UZIX 0.2.1 with the first version of my GUI for UZIX. To run it, just type xwind at the shell prompt. You must have a MSX mouse to operate it. Do not test it under emulators. This version has some minor bugs, but it isn't worth fixing them now. Characteristics: - 512x212 graphical environment (SCREEN6); - mouse support; - intensive use of VDP hardware commands; - small font, allowing 128x35 terminals; Limitations: - 4 colors (SCREEN6); - only one application available (XTerm); - fixed terminals window position; - small font, unreadable with TV; - no decorations; I would really like to hear about this from you, MSX users. This GUI uses SCR6, VDP hardware commands and simple style to achieve better performance. But I'm not sure about practical use of it. Re: GUI test
Hi Adriano, a GUI on MSX, thats real worthwhile! So i downloaded the dsk, created a floppy, booted it on my 8280 with a 4Mb mapper. All fine, logged in, looked around. And truly Unix. But i wanted to see the the GUI so i started XWIND. And was told to buy a real MSX :) instead of an emulator. Hehe, a NMS8280 is very real MSX! Ok, lets turn to the mighte Turbo R (an ST) and boot it there. started xwind and was again told to buy a real MSX! Next i started NLMSX and was shown the GUI :) not that it was useful, NL MSX does not support a mouse, but i did see a mouse pointer. How can i tell XWIND to avoid that emulator check on my real MSX'es? Hans :) -- For info, see http://www.stack.nl/~wynke/MSX/listinfo.html
Re: GUI test
*oops* lol... Hmmmz that would be a nc instead of a c, yes, right over there... rrright, very good. And a n before the z one page below, yes, ok, go for it... good boy! ^_^ Make note: take care not to put emulator-friend-real-msx-hatred version online. ~Grauw - Original Message - From: Hans Otten [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, March 09, 2002 10:40 PM Subject: Re: GUI test Hi Adriano, a GUI on MSX, thats real worthwhile! Snatcher Translation
Hello World, The new version 0.1.1 of Snatcher in portuguese is on the WebPage. There are several changes on it, and I can say that about 19% of the entire game is translated. There are new screen shots on the webpage.
