Don't forget that a CF-card has limited writes... after a time you will 
get hot-spots... So If you use it, try to limit the times you write to 
the CF-card as much as possible

Each block of Flash can be written millions of times, it will last YEARS 
even if you use it as your main harddrive.
Nevertheless, there are CF cards available that have a virtualization chip 
that randomizes writes across the entire CF card in order to minimize the 
effect.

Fortunately CF will never lose its data or become inaccessible, so even if 
you can't write to it anymore, you can just copy the data to a fresh CF card.
