[MSX] Res: Portable Msx2 U1PRO01Ai ?

2011-01-03 Thread Rudolf Gutlich
Maybe you can even add the non-existing MSX parts to make it fully compatible 8D

If you take away enough, everything will be MSX-based, as half of the
systems out there at the time had either a Z80, PSG or VDP in them :).

Anyway, I suppose you could check out a BIOS dump if you could get your
hands on one, if it’s really closely related to MSX then it should have
a similar BIOS.

there seems to be extra keys on top right
maybe it is based on msx but not 100% ?

 Hello folks,

This page lists a portable MSX2:

 http://msxfr.chez.com/marques.html

 Panasonic/Matshushita (Japan)
Portable Msx2 U1PRO01Ai :  Ce portable Msx2 vendu uniquement au Japon
 dès 1989.

Is that right ? It doesn't seem to be an MSX2:

There's not a single shred of evidence this thing even has a Z80 CPU at
all... Can we drop the speculation and wishful thinking please?

If someone comes up with a list of specifications we could discuss this
further, but now there's just a brand name, a product number and a lot
of fantasy!

These sorts of devices were made a lot back then, and still are... It
doesn't seem to be anything special.
