RE: [MSX] DRIVER.COM patched (Fossil driver)
Oi! Nice! Tell Roberto that Norway was very pleased with this :) (And please email me the patched driver, or get your ass in gear and upload it somewhere! :P ) P.S. Sbu! Ui! Ui! Ui! = Original Message From Francisco Alvarez [EMAIL PROTECTED] = Hello fans! Are you tired of using the fossil driver and having to type CALL SYSTEM after it? Did you ever want to load a command after it too? Now the solution is here!!! Roberto Vargas patched this driver then it doesn't go to basic anymore. DOS2 will be always present, then. Furthermore, if you execute it together with another program, it will be executed after installing the driver: Example: DRIVER DIR /P Then the driver will be installed, and after it, a DIR /P will be made. Well, this is everything I think, it will be uploaded to a page during the next day I think because maybe someone is interested on using it (personally I hated always to write CALL SYSTEM every time I wanted to use ERIX) :) And hey! INS needs to use this driver too... :P Well, I will keep you informed, since Roberto can't still write here by himself. :) Regards, Saeba ___ MSX mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Info page: http://lists.stack.nl/mailman/listinfo/msx ___ MSX mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Info page: http://lists.stack.nl/mailman/listinfo/msx
[MSX] FOSSIL DRIVER
Hello! As I don't want to be kicked by Dan (aka Dun), the DRIVER is now uploaded to the net. You can download it from MSX Info Pages (thanks again Hans). Direct URL is: http://www.msxhans.msx2.com/zips/driver.zip Enjoy it! And remember, by executing DRIVER ERIX, now ERIX will be loaded directly. :) PS: Hey Roberto, 2 days for finishing it? and you call yourself a coder? ;-) Best regards, Saeba ___ MSX mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Info page: http://lists.stack.nl/mailman/listinfo/msx

Re: Fossil Driver
That's fine, but in my version of ERIX and on the website of Sunrise, nowhere is a fossil driver downloadable, and without that TERM4MSX wont work Erix won't even run without the fossil-driver installed. The fossil-driver is the file DRIVER.COM within the Erix package. Download the latest version of Erix from the sunrise website, I'm sure it's in there. Oh, and by the way, TERM4MSX is still in beta stage, so don't expect too much of it (it can't upload and it can only do Ymodem-G downloads), but the colors work nicely, and it supports most of the ANSI-codes. Glad someone finally tries to run my program... ~Grauw -- For info, see http://www.stack.nl/~wynke/MSX/listinfo.html

In that case, it might be a bug. Re: Fossil Driver
Hi Laurens, Where is your (beta) program? Love to test it. Oh, it's on my fabulous http://grauw.blehq.org/ site. It's nice to be able to see colors using your Sunrise IDE without needing a Gfx9000 (the color version of Erix needs one). By the way, [commercial break] imho the TransMSX software is much more interesting. You need a TI-83 Graphical (z80 based) calculator for that though... But if you've got one, you can link it to your MSX! Yichaa!!! And yes, you can also program assembly for it using MSX83Dev. Also on my site... ~Grauw -- For info, see http://www.stack.nl/~wynke/MSX/listinfo.html

RE: Fossil Driver
A fossil driver is a program (driver is an appropiate name for it) that hides the lowlevel details of a serial interface and gives a calling program access to highlevel functions for the interface. It makes it possible to write communication programs without having to worry about what hardware is going to be used now or in the future. -- For info, see http://www.stack.nl/~wynke/MSX/listinfo.html
