2002-08-13 Thread Manuel Bilderbeek

Hi,

A couple of weeks ago a made a new version of the MSX logo in fully
scalable EPS format. Check it out on my web site, MSX part, software
part. (http://manuel.msxnet.org/msx)

Have fun with it.

Don't get offended, but of course "gay marriage" (as
Brazilian people nicknamed it) is a far more interesting
issue than some prince engagement, because it deals with
a broader scope. Nederlands are one of the first coun-
tries to recognize it and it's a hotly debated issue when
human rights are concerned, including in Brazil and other
developing and developed countries. I'm not saying your
prince's wedding isn't important, just that it isn't
so important for other countries right now. Perhaps when
Alexander becomes king and Maxima, queen...

Btw, I never knew you had a prince (although I knew
there was Queen Beatriz). Now I'm more enlightened. I
mean sincerely! =)

MSX Logo in vector format (EPS)

2001-04-02 Thread Manuel Bilderbeek

Hi MSX people

Since I could use it myself too, I made a vector GFX MSX logo this
morning. I saved it in EPS format. Feel free to check it out and give
comments:
http://bilderbeek.cjb.net/msx/MSXlogo.eps

Feel free to use it wherever you want (in case you like it). You can be
really nice and mention that I made this version in case you use it... ;-)

I made it with xfig, drawing lines over the bitmap MSX logo taken from the
MSX2 start up screen, captured with xv from fMSX 2.x/X 2.x.

Re: Sony 900P and videotizer/MSX logo in vector format.

2001-04-02 Thread Manuel Bilderbeek

It's on its way. The scans are made, now some cutting and pasting.
 Later this week online.

Great!

By the way, in the docs there is mention of disks belonging to this computer
 (system, fonts).

 Available somewhere?

I don't have them. Someone else? I'm especially interested in the Font disk.

By the way, I decreased the size of the vector MSX logo a bit, so it fits on a
portrait A4, without scaling.
Another thing: I don't guarantee the quality of the resulting picture when it
is magnified over landscape A4! (I had to use some dirty tricks to fill the
white part of the logo... Glitches may turn up at higher mag than A4 landscape
at which it was tested.)

By the way, you can make a postscript (PS) file of it by adding
showpage
at the utter end of the file.

MSX-logo

2001-03-23 Thread David Heremans

Hello,

We all know the nice MSX logo, the one we see if we start our msx@ (or
higher) computers. I want to use this logo in a design I'm making, the only
problem is that the start-up logo isn't good enough.

Does anybody knows were I can find the technical description of the logo.
Some form of map telling me that the lower line is x units long then you have
a circle with Y units as radius and its center is at (v,w) etc etc.
For the Benelux people, something like once was published in one of the
MCCM's for the logo of the MST.

Thanks,

David Heremans

Scan the logo from a manual or something, should be a large picture and
scanned at let's say 150dpi. Then start Adobe Illustrator and trace the
lines. Now you've got yourself a vector based MSX logo. Resizing doesn't
matter anymore, any size will be the right size.

Ok, were can I find a free trial version of this adobe ilustrator for

GIMP is bitmap only, it doesn't do vectors. Well, there is the paths thing,
but that's only to create selections; I don't think you can export paths.

I think Corel ported their bitmap to vector conversion program to Linux. I
doubt it is free though. But cheaper than Illustrator probably.

Hmm, that could be kind of a problem ;) You never told us you don't use

I think he did, just not recently.

But why do you assume everyone uses Windows? Windows is on about 90% of the
desktops; that is a lot but 10% is certainly not neglible. And I dare to say
that non-Windows operating systems are relatively popular among MSX users.

Anyway, let's leave it at that, before we set off another pro/contra MS flame.

Bye,
Maarten

1999-10-27 Thread TFH/Fony

Hello you all...

Just a small question. I want to have a new logo for the MEP. I was
wondering of someone with an overdose of creativity would like to help me. I
myself am as creative as a rock, so... That will probably end up nowhere..
The logo has to be 100 pixels in height and max. 566 pixels in width. number
of colors doesn't matter for me, as long as the file won't get to big...

There is a brasilian version of LOGO (people says it was made by

best version of LOGO I ever saw. I have this cartridge. It's nice, has a
pretty turtle and can use all resources of MSX (disk, sprites, sound,
