Yes, but load and save routines are not that easy without sources.

Well, quite some people have these sources nowadays. E.g. Eric Boon.

Hi!

I've made a textfile with instructions how-to-expand-to-256kB-sampleram. I
know there are some different types of 256kB expansion. So perhaps it is
useful to compare to see which is the easiest to build.

Mail me if you want it.

One more thing: does anyone know what software actually uses this
extra sampleRAM, that you might use to test it?

Only proggram, that I know is Unknown Reality by N.O.P.
It would have been really cool, if MoonBlaster makers had supported this
little "extra possibility."

THe excellent music program "Oracle" by Fuzzy Logic, _does_ support 256kB
SampleRAM! It should be easy to modify MB for 256kB though... (just a matter
of address-range)

It's not with it but I'm sure that if you ask the developers they can give
you a replayer. But I agree, this is the major disadvantage why no-one
supports Oracle yet.

Actually I have a cracked version of it in my HD. :-) (I have also
original) This version does not anyway support for directory changeing,
there is no exit and only A and B drive can be used (anyway you can use
ASSIGN-command before starting)

Most I miss some commands like fade in out for each channel with 9
different speeds, command to contact next "line" to this "line"
I mean so, that you could play a note and put vibrato on or change volume
at a same time without horribble lot of tempo settings etc.

I don't think so. I think that the major reason is that there are not many
developers left to support it. And those few left are that used to
moonblaster that they don't want to start using something else...

But we will see what happens once that replayer is available.

Kind regards,

Remco Schrijvers released them to the public. If I remember correctly, the
terms are that you give him credit and don't bother him with stupid questions.

You can find MB1.4 sources (yes, the editor sources) on the MCCM CDs. If
you don't have those, I can mail the sources to you.

Not quite right. I do have sources for the replayer, but not the sources
of MoonBlaster itself. And those are the sources you need to get 256K
support in MB.

BTW, AFAIK, the _replayer_ sources are on funet (haven't checked, though -
the proxy is down). Anyway, if you need these sources, (either MoonBlaster
itself or the replayer) I guess you should turn to the rightful owner and
author at first: Remco Schrijvers.

I could upload my version of the replay and loader routines, if anyone is
interested. There's of course lack of documentation, it takes only one sample-
kit for all musix and you need to recompile the loader each time you want to
use it for another set of musics... The replayer itself is slightly modified
to cooperate with the loader, of course and I've completely kicked out the PSG
drums as I needed the PSG for SFX.

Anyone? No? I'll upload them anyway :-) (Gimme a couple of days though,
I need to find the sources on some disk somewhere between 299 others)

Eric (Look Cas, I'm giving away my magic tricks ;-D)

PS. Almost forgot: my sources do NOT include loading 256K samples...
