Sega ported those games directly from Master System/Mark III.
That console is poor compared with MSX graphics, but it has a better
graphic hardware (horizontal scroll, multicolor patterns and sprites, etc.)

Because of this, games ported by Sega are not as playable as they should be.

Sega made some great arcade games (Outrun!), which were ported poorly to
MSX.
I wonder if a lot of ports in the old days didn't use the graphical
possibilities of MSX because they were mainly intended for the ZX-Spectrum?

That's cool to hear that a big name company might be
interested on our beloved MSX, but my memories about
Sega games on the MSX don't get me quite excited. :)

Konami would be a very different story!

Sega will visit MSX Den-yu Land 2000

2000-07-13 Thread ag0ny

Hi,

I've received an email from Ikeda a while ago, and he has confirmed that
people from Sega will visit the fair to look at the MSX scene and try to
decide whether it may be of interest for them to program for MSX or not.

Good news (I guess).

Regards,
