I converted the LilyPond source to version 2.18 and the MIDI now seems
"good", at least it plays violin sounds.

Are you interested in the .ly files or just the MIDI files?  I will submit
the .ly files to Mutopia, but it can take a while for them to show up on
the site, so contact me directly if you want the files now.
