Problems after upgrade to 1.2.5 on linux machine
Greetings, So... I finally upgraded. :-) No problems on my irix box. However, there are a few problems with the new version on my friend's linux box. Version info is: Mutt 1.2.5i (2000-07-28) Copyright (C) 1996-2000 Michael R. Elkins and others. Mutt comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; for details type `mutt -vv'. To report a bug, please use the muttbug utility. I did: $ ./configure --prefix=$HOME $ make $ make install Problem #1: Every time I invoke mutt, it seems to instantly and persistently redefine my terminal window characteristics as if I had a 24-line screen (I use 80x40 xterm windows, with TERM=xterm). So whether I invoke a shell-escaped command or simply read a message with less(1) (which I use as my pager in mutt), the output or message is messed up. When I exit mutt, the display is still in 24-line mode until I execute "reset", which allows me again to use my full 40 lines. Problem #2: If I execute "mutt -p", highlight a postponed message and hit ENTER to select it, it dumps core with: Segmentation fault (core dumped) I experience neither of these problems with 0.95.4: Mutt 0.95.4us (1999-03-03) Copyright (C) 1996-8 Michael R. maildir2mbox ?
I found a nice script, mbox2maildir, which converts a mbox file to a maildir format. I know that the inverse script, maildir2mbox, exists, but I can't find it. auto expire
I have a script to expire folders at the end of my .profile that runs once-a-day. I could just leave there, but I recently changed some things and now I would like to have Anacron run it. The problem is that Anacron won't run the following command: mutt -f =mutt -e 'set delete;push D~r2wenterq' This is the error message: No recipients specified. run-parts: /etc/cron.test/muttxpr exited with return code 1 Does anyone know if there's way to change the command so it will work? I spent some time fooling around, but I just can't figure it out. Larry
Can't modify mail folders after upgrade to 1.2.5

I upgraded to a personal copy (--prefix=$HOME) of ncurses 5.2. No more terminal display problems. Thanks! I'm not sure about the problems with postponed messages. I can't reproduce it, so I can't even suggest what's wrong. I still observe this. I execute mutt -p and when I select one of the messages, mutt dumps core with the message: Segmentation fault (core dumped) I can use "mutt -f =postponed" to view messages in =postponed without any problem, as long, it seems, as I don't try to update the file. If I try to delete one, as soon as I exit with 'q', I get the same core dump and message, and the message is not deleted. If I mark for deletion and don't try to write the mailbox, i.e., exit with 'x', no core dump occurs. I just did more testing. It seems I can't update any mail folders. If I mark a message for deletion, whether by using 'd' or 's', as soon as I try to commit the changes, whether by using 'q' or '$', I get a segfault core dump. So it seems that I can't modify mail folders.
