 Is there an up-to-date version of the trash folder patch, one that is

 The one from here (which seems to be the original source of the patch):

 http://cedricduval.free.fr/mutt/patches/#trash

 is very old and no longer applies. I found a version updated for mutt
 1.5.16 here:

 http://scie.nti.st/2007/6/21/mutt-trash-folder-patch-for-1-5-16

 this seems to apply cleanly to mutt 1.5.20 but I haven't tried compiling
 and using it.

 I wonder what version of the patch the debian packers are using?

There was another thread mentioning it a month or so back. Have a look at it.
Sorry I can't be of more help as I don't remember the subject.

 Exchange is pretty picky on your from address. Can you send mails to
 other mail servers? Check that, and your /var/log/mail for error
 messages.

I don't have a /var/log/mail it would seem (I'm not using any MTA just sending
via imap connection) and I can send mails fine via googles smtp server.

Do you know what the correct way to set up the from address is?

Currently I have the following in my .muttrc (inside a folder-hook):

smtp_url= smtp://student.aau...@smtp.aau.dk:587 \
smtp_user = u...@student.aau.dk \
smtp_pass = mypassword \

To connect to the imap server (for reading mail) I need to set
u...@student.aau.dk@mail.aau.dk:port

I've attempted with

smtp_url= smtp://u...@student.aau.dk@smtp.aau.dk:587 \
smtp_user = u...@student.aau.dk \
smtp_pass = mypassword \

smtp_url= smtp://student.aau.dk//u...@smtp.aau.dk:587 \
smtp_pass = mypassword \

and have also tried with smtps://*

perhaps you (or someone else knows the correct way?

As far as offline imap goes there are some good ressources for it around the
web. And for online imap, well if you only have one account google should be
enough, if there are more you might want to look through the list archives for
these three mails (there may be minor errors in the names, but they are all
called something along the lines of what I've written):

  Hey,

  I'm having some difficulties with mutt and multiple imaps; I've been
  trying to set it up for my private mail and my uni mail, but I can't seem
  to get it to work. I've been following two entries from the wiki (mainly)
  this (http://wiki.mutt.org/?MuttGuide/UseIMAP) and this
  (http://wiki.mutt.org/?UserStory/GmailMultiIMAP), if I purely follow the
  first link, then mutt responds with there being no maildir.
  If I purely follow the second link then it recognizes the maildir, but it
  shows that there are no mailboxes.
  A finesse to this is that my uni mail has a different ending from the imap
  server (the other is a gmail account). Could someone help me point out the
  flaws in my configuration?

  # Base hook to reset account variables to known state before activating
  new ones
account-hook . 'unset preconnect imap_user imap_pass imap_authenticators;
  set ssl_starttls=ask-yes'

account-hook imaps://imap.gmail.com:993/ 'set imap_user=Gmail-user
  imap_pass=Pass'
folder-hook imaps://imap.gmail.com:993/ 'set
  folder=imaps://imap.gmail.com/INBOX record=+Sent from=My Name
  gmail-u...@gmail.com'

account-hook imaps://uni-imap-server.com/ 'set imap_user=Uni-user
  imap_pass=Pass2'
folder-hook imaps://uni-imap-server.com/ 'set
  folder=imaps://uni-imap-server.com/INBOX record=+Sent from=My Name
  uni-m...@uni-mail-address.com'

  If I add a folder and a spoolfile line (independent of the hooks) then
  this setup works, but would I need to set a spoolfile and a folder for
  both accounts? I think I tried it, but I'm not quite certain.

 The folder and spoolfile you set would be your defaults that get open
 when you start mutt. You only need to set these for one of your
 accounts.

 A few days back I posted in this mailing list my configuration to handle
 multiple Gmail
 accounts. Search the archives for a subject like Simple Mutt with Eee
 PC 701. You may find it useful.

  Any help would be appreciated :-)

I don't know if that can be done, but couldn't a work around be that you
