Re: [MLO] Sync not working with Android app

2012-03-13 Thread Alexandra Borovytskaya
Hello Amberly,

Please create new sync profile on your Android phone and try again to sync
desktop file there.

I've been using the Android app and syncing with MLO-PC for about 3

 Any ideas?

2012-03-13 Thread Alexandra Borovytskaya
ok, if any issues occur with this new file - we will probably need it for
research, but not the old one.
thanks.

This problem was happenning every time I synched Windows with the
cloud - irrespective of whether I also synched with iphone.. I
created a new MLO file, cloud sync and iphone file to test this but it
actually worked fine, so I exported my tasks from the problematic file
and re-imported them into a new MLO file, which now works fine. So
 problem solved.
If you want though - I'm happy to empty the old file and send it
through (give me the reevant email address if you want me to do
this). It was acually a very, very old MLO file.

Re: [MLO] iPhone or Android? What is best smartphone platform for MLO?

2012-03-13 Thread Lisa Stroyan
My guess is that if you are a long-time MLO PC desktop user, you probably
enjoy the ability to customize your software and make it do just what you
want it to do. Android (the OS) seems much better for doing that in general
(not specific to MLO) so I suspect you might be happier with Android
overall.

If you are an MLO-desktop-via-wine on an Apple computer, then the picture
is much more muddy because Apple products mesh together better than Android
/ PC.

[MLO] Re: Sync error

Error somehow resolved...

 Dear Dwight,

I have one MLO on my andriod and Windows MLOs on PCs at home and at work.

Sync on work PC and android goes well. But when I try to sync on my home
PC it is getting all modifications from server but not sending local
modifications. And also it gives sync error.

I have tried to create new MLO file and sync it with cloud. Everything was
ok at first but after some time it began to give error again. I tried to
reinstall the MLO. The same situation: at first everthing is ok, after some
time - sync error. I guess that most probably sync error starts after
midnight (almost like in fairytale :) ).

How are you initiating the sync? Hitting f9? running an auto-scheduled

Do you have only one MLO running when this happens, or more?

[MLO] Re: iPhone or Android? What is best smartphone platform for MLO?

2012-03-13 Thread Nick Clark
For me it's undoubtedly Android. I'm comparing the iPad and Android
(phone and tablet) versions and assuming the iPhone version is similar
to the iPad. The Android version is streets ahead it terms of UI,
workflow and functionality. It has more reports, better working
between views (where's view in outline on the iPad?) and this despite
being a beta. The iPad version feels very constricted in comparison.

When choosing between the two for other functionality there's
obviously much more variation in the Android platform. I've used
numerous devices and have found the HTC ones to be the best and
slickest. The Samsung email client in particular is very poor and
won't work at all without a connection. As someone else mentioned, the
Swype keyboard is brilliant. I can type a lot quicker on that on a
4.3 or 7 device than on the iPad, and a lot more accurately.
