No. Without that, the lcd server would work at all. Mine is working  
fine, because I already added this host setting. I only have to  
restart it after each boot.

Bug description:
After a clean boot, MythTV is not using the LCD display. I have to kill 
mythlcdserver manually (why is there no init/upstart script for it?) and 
restart it, to get the LCD being used by the MythTV frontend/backend.

 I'm not too familiar with mythlcdserver myself.  What's actually
 spawning it?

I really have no idea. But my best guess is, that this happens from  
mythfrontend. See
