[Nagios-users] Notifying through sms and call
Hi All, How can I set nagios to send a notification to the same contact but with different way, let me explain, I've got more than 300 hosts to monitored, and they send sms when it goes down or up, but I don't want to receive the call from everyone, just a few of then may have to call my mobile phone, how could I do that? Does anyone could help on this one? The thing is, I've connected my monitor
(nagios) with a gsm modem through serial port and created a script to send
sms to notify manager of status from some hosts and services. The script
access kermit and from it sends the message, follow below the script:

Are there a way to restrict the view of some hosts? The reason is that nagios is checking all the hosts from the company, but I would like to restrict the view of all and let the hosts be viewed by departament which they belongs to, do you know what I mean? Jim, I already have configured the parent relationship, and for visualization (status map), the network structure is exactly what it is. I do now that the host dependency works for notify exactly where the problem is, that's the reason, I send the last message to get some help on how to set it. I do appreciate your help. [Nagios-users] Host dependencies
I need an explain on how to exactly set the hosts dependencies, If I got a server linked to switch and that switch linked to a router, do I have to set the server to be a host dependent of the router or just for the switch? If the switch fails nagios won´t alert me about the server but only for the switch, isn´t it? To work like that what option of notification should I configure? [Nagios-users] How to set postfix to send notifications
Hi Folks I do need a help, i'm dealing with a nightmare overhere. I got the Nagios working pretty fine (hosts, contacts, hostgroups, contactgroups, and else), but nothing about notification. I'm working with a slackware 12.2 version, have installed postfix but don't know what to do with it. It's says that need a MTA, that's why I have installed postfix, because in many forum people say it's most simple than sendmail or else. Give me a light on this!!!
