Annoucing CaribNOG10 Meeting in Belize Nov 2nd to 6th 2015

CaribNOG is pleased to announce that CaribNOG, the Public Utilities
Commission of Belize, LACNIC and ISOC will be jointly hosting *CaribNOG's
historic 10th Regional Gathering *and *LACNIC Caribbean on the Move*
at the Best
Western Belize Biltmore Plaza Hotel  in
Belize City, Belize from November 2nd to 6th 2015.
The event is supported by the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), the
American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN), the Packet Clearing House
(PCH), The BrightPath Foundation, and the Internet Cooperation for Assigned
Names and Numbers (ICANN).
CaribNOG is a not-for-profit, independent, technical community that
providing an important regional forum for building technical capacity,
sharing industry experiences and promoting relevant solutions for advancing
network engineering in the Caribbean. CaribNOG has built a reputation as an
influential forum where computer network technicians and technology
professionals share knowledge and experiences and participate in
expert-led, high-tech training and hands-on technical workshops.
CaribNOG10 is expected to draw industry experts from across the region and
around the world to the beautiful country of Belize. CaribNOG is a critical
forum on the region’s technology landscape for rich technical discussions
where we seek to better position the Caribbean to address critical
technology challenges and issues and to collaboratively derive relevant
solutions.
CaribNOG10 is expected to be as vibrant as CaribNOG 9 held in St Lucia in
April 2015. The international nature of the gathering affords Belize a
unique opportunity to showcase its culture, capacity and technology
advances to the world.

*Dear Colleagues, members of the Nanog Community and CaribNOG* Supporters,

The Caribbean Network Operators Group (CARIBNOG) has the pleasure of
announcing and inviting you to participate in the Regional CaribNOG meeting,
 CARIBNOG Puerto Rico, from 13th to 15th April.  The 3 day event is being
jointly supported by the American Registry for Internet Numbers

, the Caribbean Telecommunications Union http://www.ctu.int/, Gauss
Laboratories and the Internet Society (ISOC) http://www.isoc.org/.

CaribNOG  meetings place heavy emphasis on building Caribbean technical
capacity by providing targeted training facilitated by industry experts. At
the same time these gatherings afford participants a unique forum for
exchanging ideas, sharing experiences and building the relationships so
essential to creating a truly regional technical community.

CaribNOG Puerto Rico will build on the content of the inaugural meeting and
offer a more in-depth treatment of Routing Techniques and the technical
considerations for the establishment of IXPs.  The meeting will also
continue to promote  regional awareness of and participation in groups such
as ISOC, ARIN, LACNIC and ICANN.

Admission to the meeting will be free of charge and open Internet Service
Providers, Network Administrators, Computer Engineers, Technology
Researchers and ICT Consultants and other interested stakeholders. This
allows regional ICT practitioners a unique opportunity to benefit from the
expertise of some of the top minds in the industry.

The Caribbean Network Operators Group (CARIBNOG) has the pleasure of
announcing and inviting you to participate in the second 2nd Regional
CaribNOG meeting, CARIBNOG 2, from

Sunday October 31st – Wednesday November 3rd, 2010 in St. Lucia.  The 3 day
event is being jointly hosted by the Caribbean Telecommunications Union and
the Government of St Lucia.

*CaribNOG*  meetings place heavy emphasis on building Caribbean technical
capacity by providing targeted training facilitated by industry experts. At
the same time these gatherings afford

participants a unique forum for exchanging ideas, sharing experiences and
building the relationships so essential to creating a truly regional
technical community.

*CaribNOG 2* will build on the content of the inaugural meeting and offer a
more in-depth treatment of Routing, LINUX and VoIP.

The meeting will also continue to promote:

1)  the establishment of CSIRTs at the national and regional level;

2)  greater technical understanding of Internet Exchange Points; and

3)  regional awareness of and participation in groups such as ISOC,

 operational practices. The meetings are informal, with an emphasis on
 practical solutions, training and insight relevant to the region.

 In St. Maarten, expert speakers from the regional and international
 technical community will be conducting hands-on workshops, in-depth
 tutorials and presentations on the following topics:

 · VoIP: VOIP workshop – Deploying secure small and medium Scale
 VoIP
 solutions

 · LINUX: Configuring and Securing LAMP, creating a secure LAMP
 application, IP Services and Security

 · ROUTING: Basics; introduction to OSPF, BGP, VoIP and SIP

 · CSIRT: Developing a Network Security and Incident Response Team.
