Unimus as NCM (Network Configuration Management) Tool

2024-04-03 Thread Shahid Shafi
Hi Network Experts,

Is anyone using Unimus as your main NCM tool in production? I am looking at
an NCM tool that can scale upto 10,000 to 15,000 Network Devices. Do you
recommend any other solution? The solution should atleast able to support
network config backups, diffs, and basic network auditing features.

thanks
Shahid

Saw 40-45% packet loss on both Lumen and ATT MPLS backbones

2022-03-03 Thread Shahid Shafi
Wondering anyone else noticed it and the loss lasted approx 10 mins. I am
wondering if one of our routers misbehaved or was there an actual SP loss?

I dont think ISOC dashboard is updating any more. Google is no longer
advertising but dashboard still shows green and TTLs were short on
those records.

Agreed, right on the money !!

Traffic stats may not say a lot yet due to tunnels and lack of native
IPv6 connectivity but finding this type of bugs is a major reason to
do live tests, even if the test fails.

Well, we are still attempting to recreate the problem. It isn't
something as simple as someone coming in over a tunnel with a small
MTU with a larger advertised MSS. There is some magic that must
happen to actually put the unit in this state. We ran for 9 hours
before and 9 hours after the hiccup without any problems.

So it is going to take a while before we are ready to test this again
live. The sooner I can recreate the problem, the better, though.

Re: Is anyone Using Talari Networks WAN Optimizer?

2011-01-19 Thread Shahid Shafi
We are considering them but bit concern as they do forwarding plane
optimization instead of control plane in case of Route Science.

Shahid

Re: Good MPLS/VPLS book?

Amazon has detailed TOC and couple of chapters online so you should get all
the info. MPLS-TP gets a decent coverage in this book.

thanks,

I would expect it to cover MPLS-TP and the struggling evolution of PBB-TE
... anybody has any idea if this is in ?
