Wave out of St Louis to Ashburn

2023-05-19 Thread Louis Alexander via NANOG
I have been looking for a wave (100g) provider that has a path between St Louis
and Ashburn that avoids Dallas, Atlanta and Chicago. i.e. through the middle

Struggling to find this on any public network maps.

Please respond off list if you're aware of any options here.

Louis

WTR: 1-2RU @ Equinix Ashburn

2020-02-04 Thread Jason Lixfeld
Hi,

I’m wondering if anyone is looking to subsidize their Equinix Ashburn colo
costs by way of carving out 1-2 RU to a friendly for a low density networking
application. If so, I’d love to hear from you!

Thanks in advance!

Slight recurring Packet Loss at Equinix Ashburn

2018-04-26 Thread Laurent

Hi everyone,

Apologies for the noise and feel-free to reply off-list.

We have a transit link to Equinix Ashburn where we see regular 12-20%
packet loss on "some" of the peers there. We are working with the
transit partner and Equinix NOC for the past few days. I can provide
graph and IPs off-list if needed but I just wanted to do a quick cursosy
check if anyone else saw similar issues over the past two weeks.

Thank you

2015-11-27 Thread Graham Johnston
I think we saw an issue like this a few weeks back in Chicago. It took them
longer than I would have expected to fix it, later they ultimately ended up
upgrading software I think.

Received a notification shortly after reporting the problem at 6am this morning
about "issues" on the Exchange. We saw packet input on our routers in upwards

Seems to be good now, but no explanation of what was found.

subscribers.

All proposals must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM EST on 13 November 2015.
ARIN will evaluate the properly submitted proposals and will select a winning
bidder or bidders no later than 30 November 2015.

Re: Ashburn

2015-09-17 Thread Matthew D. Hardeman
On that topic...

Has anyone noticed at 56 Marietta (in the main entrance lobby which is
currently being remodeled), ground floor by the elevators is an ominous
"Meet-Me Room #3" behind a closed door? A door that has an L-3 Communications
biometric access reader. Which is different from all the other HID readers
facility wide. One day I noticed the hum of heavy equipment through that door.
Most suspect for a "meet-me room" where most of the time it's just passive
fiber-optic patches. It's also suspect to have a Meet-Me room on a floor that
has no customers, but, whatever...

Makes you wonder.

Can anyone make a recommendation to include a cabinet or two? Alternatively, I

If you want to contact me off-list for details, I can provide the details.

there's also the unfortunate case of: My traffic to the selected
mirror is over the 'expensive' transit port, why can't I use my SFP's
mirror over there on the left?

setting the mirror to a specific one means some fragility, but
determinism is nice.

 http://askubuntu.com/questions/157840/why-does-apt-get-fail-to-resolve-the-mirror

Apparently mirrors.ubuntu.com picks a mirror based on geographical location
 using lines like this:

 |deb mirror://mirrors.ubuntu.com/mirrors.txt precise main restricted
 universe multiverse
 deb mirror://mirrors.ubuntu.com/mirrors.txt precise-updates main restricted
 universe multiverse
 deb mirror://mirrors.ubuntu.com/mirrors.txt precise-backports main
 restricted universe multiverse
 deb mirror://mirrors.ubuntu.com/mirrors.txt precise-security main restricted
 universe multiverse

I'm not sure how good it is at picking a mirror though. ubuntu seems to
make a mess of the sources.list
file and makes it scary to change. I always leave it with the mirror I
 chose during install.

 This:
 https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SourcesList

Says you can pick Select Best Server from a menu. That would probably
work okay if it's not a headless box.

DSL or T1 Service to Equinix DC5, Ashburn, VA

2010-07-27 Thread Christopher Nielsen
We've been trying to get a DSL line to our cage at Equinix DC5 in
Ashburn, VA with no luck. It seems there is no DSL service in the
area; that's what we've been told anyway. Anyone know differently?
Alternately, any thoughts on a good provider for a T1?

Replies off-list, please.

Thanks!
