Have seen this happen to at least five people I know. And this is why I always tell people to: 1) Use a PDF (it makes it harder, they at least have to copy/paste text and do some re-formatting). 2) Ship or attach a PGP or other crypto signature (not that anybody verifies them). I personally have been known to mention that the resume should be signed/have a signature available in a quick quip where I also mention experience with basic end-application crypto systems in the resume. Recruiters often fail to remove that reference when they modify it. 3) Offer to "send a fresh copy" of the resume at the earliest opportunity in engaging a hiring manager. 4) Always bring multiple hard-copies as well as the PDF on portable media to interviews. The hiring managers hate the recruiter-modified BS resumes as much as the interviewees do. This goes double when it's been modified to the point that the qualifications stated bear little to no resemblance to the original ones stated. That just wastes everyone's time. -- Brandon Martin

I made the mistake of posting a resume from a link on linkedin, luckily, with a google voice number, but unfortunately, not with a burner email address. I had 11 missed calls yesterday because for now I am keeping my phone on silent. I mean, for f's sake, just send me an email. So annoying. Per Michael Valentine Smith 127.0.0.1 should work. This also has the benefit of working over IPv6 (::1) without violating the ineffibility Karl referred to. Although, technically, since many gods are omnipresent, shouldn't you just be able to send the packet to any address and it will be received? I'm not clear on the implementation details as I would assume the gods would need to be in promiscuous mode for that to work and I'm pretty sure that would pose a problem for some gods that are said to be omnipresent... - Message from Joe Hamelin - Date: Mon, 18 Aug 2014 11:15:39 -0700 From: Joe Hamelin Subject: Re: Urgent To: Randy Bush Cc: NANOG list On Mon, Aug 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM, wrote: Contact for God, please reach out to me offlist. RE: Contact @ 1And1 hosting re: http://www.koneksyon.com/ - URGENT
Thanks all for the quick responses. Got what we needed. for clarification: This website does not involve any donations at all. It is simply a bulletin board application that allows US based relatives to post name, last known location of people in Haiti whom they can not get in touch with. Since there is still internet access available in Haiti via satellite, there are people in Haiti who would frequent the list and post a response if they happen to know of the whereabouts of someone listed on the site. once again thank you all. I completely understand, however this website went up since yesterday morning, way before anything else of its kind went up, and there were already thousands of entries and folks were already relying on it as a mean to locate loved ones. It is certainly not a substitute to the registry that the Redcross has in place, but it has already helped relatives track each other. I am simply appealing to this community as a way to get through to 1And1. That's all. Remote hands requested near sherman oaks LA [urgent]
Sorry for the noise .. Got me a (personal) box that has a borked grub after an OS upgrade. Need to get somebody there who can just go in, probably fix /boot/grub/menu.lst to say the right thing, run grub (maybe boot in with a live cd, mount and run grub.. you know the drill) Is anybody in or near Sherman Oaks LA who can help fix this? Please email ASAP, I'll hook you up with the person who can get you access. Sorry for the urgent - that box has been down for over 24 hrs now. gave up waiting for root device common problem: boot args (cat/proc/cmdline) check root delay = (did the system wait long enough?) check root = (did the system wait for the right device?0 missing modules (cat/pro/modules;ls/dev) alert! /dev/disk/by-uuid/42b8599e-f7bc-4626-ad08-4ba6427513d1 does not exist. dropping to a shell busybox v1.13.3(ubuntu 1:1.13.3-1ubuntu7 built in shell (ash) enter 'help' for a list of commands (initramfs): -- Suresh Ramasubramanian (ops.li...@gmail.com)

I suspect that you might have more luck if you mentioned where you are, how far you would be willing to drive to pick one up and how long you would need to use it for... For example, I could probably loan you an old 7200 that would fit the bill, but I'm in VA which probably wouldn't work out for you... Feel free to mail me privately if you don't have any luck elsewhere and I'll pull it out of storage, make sure it is still a happy camper, etc... Congratulations, finally, after almost a year after the shutdown and deprecation of the 6bone address space, returning it to IANA, all the 6bone prefixes are finally gone from the IPv6 routing tables at all ISP's peering with GRH (which thus more or less gives a global IPv6 BGP view) grh.sixxs.net> show bgp 3ffe::/16 longer-prefixes grh.sixxs.net> (aka none ;) Checking http://www.sixxs.net/tools/grh/dfp/6bone/ pTLA: 3ffe::/24 Country: us NetName: ROOT66/US-CA ASN: AS4555 Allocated: 1997-08-14 Last Seen: 2007-05-10 12:17:22 pTLA: 3ffe:800::/24 Country: us NetName: ISI-LAP/US-CA ASN: 4555 Allocated: 1997-08-14 Last Seen 2007-05-10 12:17:22 Thanks Bill for finally(!) shutting down the machines that you where still using for announcing these prefixes. This definitely shows that everybody is done experimenting with IPv6, expect for the upcoming Great IPv6 Experiment of course ;) For the folks still using only IPv4: Remember that Geoff Huston and Tony Hain have now aligned their prognoses for IPv4 Address Depletion: 2009 is the new date, so if you are not doing IPv6 yet, you better start doing something about it, or you will be too late, and everybody who did do something about it, is going to point and laugh at you while ridiculing you saying "we told you so", which is going to be quite a lot of fun :) Greets, Jeroen (only partially kidding, but it was time that 6bone routes finally disappeared, he can resurrect the rest of ep.net though) signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature
