Re: [neonixie-l] Re: Completed Eight-Digit ZM1350 Panaplex Display

2020-03-29 Thread Mahdi Al Husseini
Thanks Martin! Yes I have two remaining. Not kits though, since I had the
whole board professionally assembled (each board has 120+ discrete
transistors!). I’m willing to sell the set-up at cost since everything I’ve
paid into it I consider sunk.

Everything finished to include the etched anodized aluminum, black acrylic,
and standoffs would probably run around 300-350$ with shipping (tubes not
included of course!). You don’t need eight to make the display work, it’ll
take whatever you have, and you can set a soft limit in the code

If anyone’s interested, just let me know

but on a single board. Etched black anodized aluminum outside with a black

A couple of my ZM1350s have fading segments, but that is to be expected I

What proved more difficult (for me anyhow) was setting up the back-end
to work seamlessly between the ESP32 and SSL protocols. It took some
snooping around, but i've managed to make near immediate submissions to the
ZM1350 display from my website at

Re: [neonixie-l] Re: B7971's on the bay....

2020-03-29 Thread SWISSNIXIE - Jonathan F.
Personally i noticed a price-rise in alot of items on ebay, not just nixies or
tubes. I follow alot of searches of vintage tech and noticed that items are
selling alot more expensive than a half year ago... Prices for nixies, huge
tubes(decorative), other displays, radiation related items, gemstones
meteorites minerals etc.

For a example, trinitite, fused sand by atomic explosions sold almost tripple
the price in the last weeks compared to a year ago.

maybe more people with money become geeks :-) or just the fear of "last
remaining quantity"

RE: [neonixie-l] Re: B7971's on the bay....

2020-03-29 Thread Michail Wilson
The problem with ebay is that if the tubes are bad, ebay will force the seller
to take them back. So, untested and sold as-is doesn’t matter to a buyer
anymore.

$150 is not bad. I’ve seen them sell for as much as $300 on ebay.

When I saw them going up, I couldn’t help but post my own. I mean at 200-300,
I can’t find myself holding on to them. So, I posted them at $250.

If someone really wants one, they can buy from me. I don’t recommend it. I
even answer peoples questions in that they should wait as they come up cheap
often. Some simply can’t wait.

There were two b7971's available last night on Ebay at 150USD each, used and
untested. They are already gone.
This is crazy.

Hello all, just ended up winning an IV-26 clock, the kind with 12 tubes for
each digit. The one I got has very worn out tubes, and some segments barely
light, so I want to replace some or all of the tubes. But what type of
IV-26 tubes should I get? It seems like the difference is how the segments
in the tube are wired together.
