yes i'm an amateur, a dilettante with a desultory practice, a
 dreamer.

there's no way in hell i'll ever seriously contemplate make a living
from being an artist unless enough money to do so is handed to me
 on a
 plate.

at this moment in time, i only want a job (which i have on a
 temporary
contract (away from the clutches of the agency)). ideally it would be
a job with less hours and pays better, but 8 hrs a day 5 days a week
for almost £200 take-home (per week) is better than nothing.

 i find tree-climbing workshops insulting.

The only thing art has ever done for me, is given me a £12000 student
debt, a mechanism for making stuff out of my bitterness.

Re: [NetBehaviour] on holiday

2010-07-29 Thread Renee Turner
It might sound strange but I'm growing somewhat fond of Jennie's
mails. Each time thanks for getting in touch grows more poetic in
cadence, and the notion of sending a text in an emergency sounds
like a manifesto for revolution.

I'm asking myself... what will I do when she returns and her automated
responses cease to rupture the rhythm of the list. Perhaps there will
be nothing left to do but to go on holiday.

2010-07-29 Thread info
The Secret Sounds of Spores.

09|10 Alt-w Production Award - Hickey Seznec
www.nipht.com | www.theamazingrolo.net

31st July to 21st November 2010, Daily 10am-6pm.
Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh EH3 5LR

Hidden under every mushroom, invisible to the naked eye, thousands of
spores fall and are blown away by the tiniest current of wind.

Using lasers and computer technology Patrick Hickey Yann Seznec will
make these spores visible and audible, creating an installation as part
of the 'From Another Kingdom' exhibition that will reveal the depth and
beauty present in fungi.

Thursday 15th July 2010, 6-7pm.
Apple Store, 147 Buchanan Street, Glasgow G1 2JX

Following on from our two Alt-w talks at the Apple Store as part of the
Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art we're back with a monthly
series from our remaining six artists.
