[NetBehaviour] Useless Philosophy
Useless Philosophy http://www.alansondheim.org/phen.jpg http://www.alansondheim.org/phen.txt This is from 2009, parts from the early 70's, thinking through all of it again. How does the phen.txt apply to virtual worlds? What tree structures, connections, might emerge from it now? If anyone knows of a structure or venue where my work might be discussed or accessed, please let me know. I've been working from the old LISTS text and this phenomenology piece stams from work that goes all the way back to an exhibition in NJ that included Carl Andre, Alice Aycock, etc.; there was a catalog. But I've been extending this kind of thinking which also connects to deep ecology. [NetBehaviour] Art Is
https://i0.wp.com/robmyers.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/art-is-2.0.png http://robmyers.org/2017/07/08/art-is-2-0/ “Art Is”, 2014/2017, DApp. People have argued about the definition of art for millennia. We finally have the techonomic means to settle this argument. In “Art Is”, people can use the Ethereum network to pay to define art at a price equal to the strength of their certainty in the correctness of their definition. The results are an economically rational definition of art, far stronger than discourse paid for by third party cultural institutions. The original “Art Is” from 2014 < http://robmyers.org/2014/07/23/ethereum-art-is/ > suffered from bitrot so I re-implemented it. As ever, you can access it via an Ethereum-enabled browser here < http://show.robmyers.org/artworld-ethereum/dapps/art-is/build/index.html > and the source code is available in a git repository here < https://gitlab.com/robmyers/artworld-ethereum/tree/master/dapps/art-is >. ___ NetBehaviour mailing list NetBehaviour@netbehaviour.org http://www.netbehaviour.org/mailman/listinfo/netbehaviour
