NS2.1 Unicode font library could not be initialized

2009-05-26 Thread Mike Hobbs
I just tried 2.1 and can't get past the first hurdle...
Unicode font library could not be initialized...

I'm using it on Virtual RPC-SA (RO 4.02) which has been
running various versions of NetSurf successfully up to 2.0
and I just rolled back to 2.0 and its fine.

The only resource/module that was updated was Tinct and the
new version is working fine with NS 2.0. I've tried both new
and old !Unicode - no difference.

Please email me the log file and your !Fonts directory.

Thanks,

Please could you run NetSurf 2.1 and e-mail me (off-list) the Log file it
generates, and also your !Fonts directory.

The Log file is created after NetSurf has been run. You can find it by
opening NetSurf's application directory and double click OpenScrap. The
Log file is in the directory that opens.

The Fonts folder is usually in !Boot.Resources. Please could you compress
the !Fonts directory and e-mail it too me too.

Best regards,

Michael

Ah, John-Mark replied. Just send them to him then. :)

This sounds just like the problem I had, which turned out to be due to
a corrupt font, and therefore easily solved.

With best wishes,

Peter.

This page is supposed to show jpegs of the patterns, but in Netsurf
fails to do so, despite all the rest of the gubbins on the page
 appearing as normal.

It displays the drawings OK in Oregano 1.

Any clues as to why jpegs are a problem here?

I see only a technical drawing of the item, with no patterns, in
Firefox, with styling on or off. Can you perhaps provide a couple of
screenshots demonstrating the difference?

The site is serving GIFs with a JPEG content-type. NetSurf believes the
server is telling the truth about what type of file it is, and sends the
GIF data to our JPEG handler. The JPEG handler fails to decode the image.

To fix it we need to do content-type sniffing. We are aware of the issue,
thanks for reporting.

Pizza hut site layout problem

2009-05-26 Thread Paul Stewart
The pizzahut.co.uk site layout does not fully work in NetSurf
(R7547). Whilst it is usable, the text is not displayed correctly.

See here for how it looks in both Firefox and NetSurf:-
