Backgrounds fill stopped working?

2016-02-13 Thread Bob Latham
Is it me or has

stopped working? All of the pages on my Intranet according to Netsurf have
gone white.

Probably me missing the obvious again. :-)

I'm using ARMiniX 5.21.

I've tried hiding !cache so I can control when it is filer_booted but it
still gives the problem.

Yes I'm getting this too. I've actually killed the !cache application
because it kept causing this problem over an over again.

I can confirm that I have installed version 1964 today and that it does
fix my problem.

Well done and thanks to all of you.

Hmmm, its me. The intranet is in my house but I've never seen the config
file, I just used the management console. Isn't that what I'm supposed to
do? :-)

This was my fight with the bug tracker system.

Absolutely, I was only reporting the facts, not complaining except I did
moan about the bug tracker.

Indeed. I'm grateful it may get fixed at some point. Presumably, other
platforms will have the same problem?

Yes, I can see that would be the case.

Chris Young has asked for a copy of the log and I've sent it to him zipped.

Good luck with that.

I'm plagued with this BocConvert as well as told in my thread "Username
and Password problem".

Daniel showed some interest and asked for information and I've tried
everything to get it to him and after (in total) a couple of hours trying
I've given up.

The log from my Netsurf seems to say that it bombs out BoxConvert because
it encounters the character 5f presumably hex or &5F. I have searched
through the relevant html on my intranet and no 5F anywhere and certainly
not in a page url.

Mine is triggered not by the web page as such but by the security username
and password on items inside one folder on my Cherokee driven Intranet.

This started to happen for me with build 1950 and has persisted ever since
but builds up to and including 1949 did not have the problem. I would not
be surprised if the problem in this thread started with also 1950.

As regards reporting the problem, I found this an obstacle course and no
doubt.

Firstly, I was asked for a log file from netsurf which after some reading
and testing I managed to generate. I possibly wrongly emailed it to the
mailing list. I was told it was being help for the next moderator as it
was a little too big.

So I emailed Daniel to his email address with the file, no reply.

He also asked me for something in cgi. Err what?

And the config file from Cherokee for which I've asked what's the file
name and where it may be in the structure but had no reply.

The I thought maybe I should look into this bug tracker whatsit, that when
the problems started.

Registration kept bombing out or doing nothing and I had to use a PC to
get this done. I then logged in using the ARMiniX and Netsurf filled in a
report and then found in Netsurf I could not attach a log file.

I logged in on the pc, filled min the forms all again, attached the file,
hit send and it bombed out again.

At this point I walked away pretty wound up if I'm honest.

Cheers,

Bob.

I have sent a log file which does show the BoxCovert error to both your
email address above and to the list. It has been blocked from the list
because it is a bit over the maximum size.

Just tried version 1959 and that also has the problem.

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for trying to help.

Yes, I'll do that when I get home, just read up on how to do it. :-)

Yer what? Sorry, I've not the slightest idea what that means, except cgi
is computer graphics isn't it.

> (I happen to be an upstream for Cherokee,

Could you tell me a path and file name for this please? Cherokee is
installed on my router. I configured it using the management tools and
applied the simplest username and password security to a couple of folders
which contain html files. If it helps, it is so simple the credentials are
held in the config page. I've not seen the config file.

Where do you want me to send these files?

Thanks again.

Bob.

Username and password problem

2014-06-05 Thread Bob Latham
Hi,

I have an intranet driven by the Cherokee web server. Some pages are
protected and need a username and password to get the page. This works
fine on all PC and Apple browsers and the iPad.

It worked fine with netsurf up to and including test version 1949.

Versions 1950,1952,1956 all fail to gain access.

After entering a username and password I now get a small window called
"Warning From Netsurf" Inside the window it says "BoxConvert" and there is
a continue button which doesn't continue, it just closes the strange
little window.

This is on an ARMiniX running RO 5.21

Anyone else seeing anything like this?

Cheers,

Bob.

Hard drive continuous access

2010-07-21 Thread Bob Latham
Hi,

Using OS 4.39 and this happens on more than one machine.

I've noticed that with recent versions of Netsurf, if a netsurf window is
open then the hard drive is continuously being accessed non stop.

r10640 works fine - no continuous hard disc access.
r10651 hard disc continuous if a netsurf window is open.
r10656 hard disc continuous if a netsurf window is open.

Is this a bug or a feature or have I got something wrong? I have reverted
to r10640.

Cheers,

Bob.
