Well, my experiments show the rendering to be a very hit and miss affair - more miss than hit - in 1691. Perhaps the socket exhaustion has something to do with it. Never, ever expected that to happen. Brian

When I was in Java (Gresik Surabaya) the local weekly was called Java Script. How ever every one of you missed the point but this old priest worked it out. All you have to do is put a Directory , call it StreetMap, on the HD and drag an email into it. Then all one has to do is open the Directory click on the emailbingo! You certainly need a simple explination for an old priest. ;-) Great relief to have access to this program... it is wonderful. Alan not using Java Script on his old Iyonix. --

Alan, sorry, I don't understand the question. NS loads the web-page and you enter the postcode, or whatever, then click 'Search'. You can then save the map segments, but there is no program to download to the HD. Tony

Exactly (the main site http://www.streetmap.co.uk/ requires JavaScript). John was commenting that StreetMap now renders _all_ the map segments, whereas recently it had developed a bug which caused several segments to be missing, from each page. Tony

Hi Tony, How do you get the program to load (sit) on the HD. It is great! old priest from Middlesbrough Alan --

StreetMap
Am I imagining it, or has StreetMap (without JS) decided to load all elements of the map each time? If so, well done! John

I prefer to use Fresco because the saved Draw files are very much easier to unpack leaving just the map. http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newsearch.srf?"; name="f" method="post"> Post Code GB Place UK Street London Street OS grid (x,y) Landranger Lat/Long Tel Code -- _ |_|. _ Richard Porter http://www.minijem.plus.com/ |\_||_mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Disclaimer: I disclaim everything.

However the text I drag in contains a soft space. If NetSurf munges that into a hard space, then there is a problem! Deleting the (dragged) space and typing a soft space does cure it. Streetmap oddity!
Streetmap's old site http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newdefaulte2.htm There is a peculiarity in Netsurf ( r5886 ) If you type in a postcode, Streetmap finds it OK. But if you drag and drop the same postcode, then click on Search, Streetmap returns an error page (which gets displayed as text). So why is drag and drop into Netsurf giving the wrong thing? CTRL C-V works as drag and drop. -- Richard Torrens. http://www.Torrens.org.uk for genealogy, natural history, wild food, walks, cats and more!
