I'm using r13071 now, and glad to report the problem is cured.

Since my original report, I've not had cause to log-in at Sourceforge
but I've just tried again using NetSurf r13038 and, this time, I'm
pleased to say that there is no problem.

My problem yesterday with the Spellings site sounds a bit like the one
Tony Moore posted in thread "Rolling Stone website rendering". There
was only Chris Young's reply at the time.

Did this ever get resolved?
The Spellings site in my query also tends to throw up certificate
errors. (Using Netsurf r13033)

The first digit of the port is getting overwritten by an extraneous
colon for some reason. It ends up as (I rationalised the
credentials):

https://user:p...@server6.spellings.net::083/frontend/x3/mail/addfwd.html
^
Then it tries to resolve "server6.spellings.net:" as the hostname.

password for HTTPS site leads to endless loop

2011-10-13 Thread Jim Nagel
This is an URL file I use -- a doubleclick on it always worked until
last week to get directly to the Forwarders page, but now Netsurf
tells me it cannot resolve host server6.spellings.net.

https://:@server6.spellings.net:2083/frontend/x3/mail/addfwd
.html

Netsurf r13033 tells me "Could not resolve host: server6.spellings.net
(Domain name not found)". Yet I can ping that host successfully.

Loaded up good ol' Fresco, and the URL file works there.
So I went back to an older version of Netsurf (2.7) and it works
there too, other than the complaint about invalid certificate.

However, it then asks for username and password again, thinks a bit,
asks for username and password again, thinks a bit, again ...

Did something to do with this get broken in a recent development
version of Netsurf? My URL worked on Oct 7, and I installed a more
recent dev version after that.
