No WPA under Wireless Security
Hi everybody, I've installed NetworkManager-0.6 successfully. But when I tried to access my WPA2 secured WLAN with the applet option connect with an other wireless lan (I am from Germany, maybe it is called other in english) I get a window with the option to input the Network Name and choose the Wireless Security. But there is only None, WEP Passphrase, WEP 40/128-bit hex AND WEP 40/128-bit ASCII! When I enter the ESSID and the Password with WEP Passphrase and Open System i get the log messages which you can see in the weplog file. I use Gentoo Linux and have installed wpa_supplicant-0.5.1, dbus-0.61, wireless-tools-28_pre10, dhcdbd-1.12-r1 and hal-0.5.6. For more versions please ask me... WEP and VPN worked perfectly. Thanks for your help in advance. krischan =) Mar 6 22:46:55 krischan NetworkManager: debug info [1141681615.272210] nm_device_802_11_wireless_get_activation_ap (): Forcing AP 'KWWG' Mar 6 22:46:55 krischan NetworkManager: information User Switch: /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Devices/eth2 / KWWG Mar 6 22:46:55 krischan NetworkManager: information Deactivating device eth2. What wireless card, driver, and kernel are you using? Is your driver listed as WPA-capable at http://live.gnome.org/NetworkManagerHardware? It's likely that your card or driver doesn't have the necessary WPA support yet.
