[Newbie]Unable to load required base modules (bitmap and pcidata)

2002-11-07 Thread Dave Clark
Title: Message

OK,

 so this may
be a dumb question, but I just can't seem to find away around this
problem.

On a freshly build
OS(FreeBSD 4.2.6 (current stable), I built XFree86-4 (4.2.0) out of the
ports tree, and then following the directions ran "XFree86 -configure".
Its failing to find some modules called "bitmap" and "pcidata". I tried
using the -modulepath command line option to add /usr/X11R6/lib
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules to the XFree86 command line, but it still fails to find
these "modules" in the same manner. When I look through these lib
directories, I don't see anything called libbitmap..., so I think the modules
genuinely don't exist in those directories.

Any help getting to
the next step would be greatly appreciated.

Below is is an
example fragement of /var/log/XFree86.0.log after an attemped run of "XFree86
-configure":

[Newbie]cutpaste, XFree86(Cygwin)-MSWindows?

2002-11-07 Thread Jack Repenning

How do I persuade my XFree86 (Cygwin version) to cut and paste with my
MSWindows apps? CP within X is working just fine, but there
seems to be no way to get the data in or out to the MSWindows hosting
OS.

Go to
the Xfree86 and download the cut and paste utility they have on the page there.
It allows X and Win to share the same scratchpad.

Thanks. But what's its name? Where do I find it? I
can't locate anything like that.
