"I've known Roy for a long long time and I always had the utmost respect for him as a player. People talked about my bust-up with him in Saipan. I didn't have a bust-up with Roy. Press people just pulled something out of a training ground incident, which didn't really exist. But I have to say I lost a lot of respect for Roy as a person in that room with what he said. It went against everything that I believe in regarding sport, life even. The morals that I like to think I put across to my kids. Those were questioned. Respect for authority was questioned.
