Re: [Nighthawk Lovers] New Member / 83' Nighthawk 550 Many Problems

2019-12-07 Thread Robert James
Thanks, yeah I could use a copy. The 550 had the square light according to
everything I'm finding. This one has been through a lot, I imagine the last guy
just threw some lights on that were laying around. I think the round light
looks a little cooler, you're right about that 80's look, the square light
really dates it

Re: [Nighthawk Lovers] Charging/Electrical Issue

2019-12-07 Thread Jenya Spektor
Thanks guys - I did start a bike and when reviving the voltmeter shows 14 v or
more. So I presume the charging system is working - it’s the battery that loses
voltage during longer stop and go rides in the city. I’ll try to stop by the
AAP to check it out. Is there anything specific I should be asking them for?
And how do they test the batteries in the store? Thanks all!

Re: [Nighthawk Lovers] New Member / 83' Nighthawk 550 Many Problems

2019-12-07 Thread doug jones
Rob

Those side covers are on ebay from people who are parting out their
bikes. I have seen them keep checking back on ebay. Also my bike is a
CB650SC and there were a few models that year so it appear to be the same
frame and motor but I do believe the 550 had a round instrument cluster and
head light. In 1983 when I saw the square head light/instrument cluster, I
thought Man that is cool cause no one else has ever done that. But it
really is 1980's dated. I mean it really looks like Don Johnson Miami Vice
is ridding the bike. I put the wiring diagram up on this site for my bike
and I am betting it is the same for yours, if you need a copy I can email
you one. let me know
