I tried to make video and audio separately, but i ultimately stopped after 30
minutes of failed audio recording, i will try to make my mic be higher than it
is, or buy a new set with a mic arm... I don't like making video and audio
separately, it was very weird, i might give it another go some other day when i
got more time, but for now i am sticking with how i have been doing it now.

Re: Nim for Beginners Video Series

I I like it just they way it is. But as a recording enthuisiast, the easiest
way to get rid of the typing and backround noise is to buy a cheap lavalier mic
and put it close to your mouth and maybe use a compressor and maybe a noise
gate. But as I said, I think your videos are excellent they way they are and
typing sounds are a cool "effect".

I know my voice is a bit low, i talk quietly and i had to lower the volume to
drop background noise, might tweak it some to improve it.

About the keyboard part... some people like it D: ... idk. I could try to
normalize the volumes in the editing, maybe that will fix the high volume of my
keyboard.

These videos are amazing. The number one thing for me when choosing what
languages to learn is the amount and quality of teaching material, and how
helpful the community of the language has. These videos are so well paced and
well explained that almost anyone can learn it. In my experience with learning
programming languages is that how hard it is depends 40% on the language, and
60% on how well explained the teaching material is.

Hello @Kiloneie !

First really nice job, keep going there is not much of these Nim tutorials out
there !

My only advice would be to make your voice more clear. Right now, your voice is
a bit low and the sound of you hitting your keys is a bit loud. Maybe you could
first record the video and then your voice ?

Have a nice day !

Wow, great job!

It is not so attractive for someone who makes a lot of stuff for beginners,
comparing to advanced topics, but please continue -- going step by step with
video is very important for beginners to dive into the topic (Nim programming).

Your video series can make the Nim as the first programming language for intro
to programming at all. Now I can recommend Nim as a good variant in place of
Python if somebody needs a greedy fast or portable tool replacement even for
newbies.

I used your suggestion miran, which i didn't use exactly as you suggested but
it did make me see it's value, it helped me a lot with part one, but then i
went on a wrote way too much of a script and read way too much, which resulted
in less mouse usage to showcase things and i recorded for way too long, i get
stuck at reading a lot D:.

Welp you gotta make mistakes in order to learn.

+1 Yes please, please continue with these. They are extremely helpful for
someone like me trying to learn the basics. Coming from a Python background I
found Nim to be just perfect. I won't be needing Python anymore unless I have

I got a comment on video #5 that Terminal's font is still a bit too small, i
tried to fix it, but it won't go over 28, is it maybe because VS Code's default

Okay, i didn't think of mobile phones, i will keep that in mind, i think i can
just target VS Code editor with OBS to get it large enough, will experiment.
And for captions, okay, that's easy as most of that tutorial was pre-written as
it's supposed to be a written tutorial as well, though i need to get a website
going first.

Thanks for all the criticism, appreciated.
