[nlug] Re: Nashville Linux Users Group Meeting Time (6 or 7 pm?)

2009-01-08 Thread Evan Brown

I completely understand the reasoning and the people wanting an
earlier time. For other people though it can be harder to show up to
the meetings if they are at 6 or so, even though they leave directly
from work. That being said, it doesn't really affect me at the moment
but I can see it being a problem.

If the time were earlier, I could actually show up to a meeting.

I would MUCH prefer an earlier start time, for the reasons you've suggested.

I can manage 6:00 PM, but 6:30 PM would be more convenient in my case.

Nice touch - a virtual swap meet. I like it.

The point of a physical swap meet would be to promote exchange between
the various tech groups if we could manage to drum up interest amongst
groups.

[nlug] RE: Nashville Linux Users Group Meeting Time (6 or 7 pm?)

2009-01-08 Thread Kevin Eldridge

Hello NLUG,

It has been said by quite a a few members at the meetings that 7pm is
too late of a start time. This is because the meetings usually last
until around 8:30 or 9:00pm. If we wait to eat until then, people are
starving and they do not get home until very late at night. I would
like to take a poll of everyone who would like to change the meeting
time from the current 7:00pm to a new time of 6:00pm.

You can simply reply to this e-mail and your vote will be tallied.

Could we put up a "page" for wanted/for sale items?

With that in mind methinks i'll make my own list soon and just upload
it to the files section.
