I just committed a simple fix to mhshow. It now updates
the context before diving into the messages, like show.

Yes, but I'm also lying. It turns out that what I was seeing was
a bug in xterm and show does display the message correctly in a
terminal. However, exmh doesn't :-(

I'd verify that by adding -snoop to your send command.

Then to me that sounds like your ISP's problem. You could look at the
headers of your bounce message and see which host it's complaining about.

Correct.

My ISP.

I'm trying to remember ... as I recall, you wanted to send to localhost for
your own email, but to your ISP's smtp relay for everyone else. So for
this bounced email, was the email sent to localhost or your ISP?

[Nmh-workers] Help!

2012-05-23 Thread norm
After I sent the attached Email, last February, Ken Hornstein solved the
dilemma it posed by telling me about the -server localhost option to send.
Until a few weeks ago, everything was fine. Then I started getting the same:

: host mail.eipye.com[64.14.74.17] said: 421 "Refused. You
have no reverse DNS entry. Contact ab...@suresupport.com for details." (in
reply to RCPT TO command)

rejection notices, from from the same addressee as before. As far as I know, I
have made no changes in the mail system. In particular, I haven't yet upgraded
from nmh 1.5.

Please help me.

Subject: I need help configuring nmh 1.4
Date: Fri, 17 Feb 2012 06:00:35 -0800

Step 1. Vanilla installation . I built and installed nmh 1.4 accepting all
defaults.

nmh almost worked fine. In particular, mail addressed simply to "norm" got put
in my local mail drop. BUT for a few addressees I got a rejection note such as
the forwarded message below.

Step 2. I changed the "servers:" field of /usr/local/nmh/etc/mts.conf from
"localhost" to "smtp.tsoft.com". (my Internet provider).

Now, nmh still almost works fine. In particular, I get no rejection notes. BUT
now mail addressed simply to "norm" gets:

norm: loses; [USER] 550 5.1.1 ... User unknown
 post: 1 addressee undeliverable
send: message not delivered to anyone

I am sending this Email from the the computer in question It is running Linux
Red Hat 6.2, Kernel 2.6.32-131.0.15.el6.i686.

Help!

Thank you, as they say, in advance.
