FWIW, I have a locally-built RPM that works just fine on RHEL8. I started from the Fedora 28 sources (which was more or less the branch point for RHEL8). The specfile didn't need any changes according to my notes; the only problem was getting hold of the build dependencies. nmh wants w3m which wants perl-NKF which you will not find in core RHEL8. You can get it from the codeready repo though. regards, tom lane

It won't build for EPEL 7 and I haven't figured out how to get it into EPEL 8 and 9 to try. I might not have time for a while. If you want to take a look, that would be very helpful. If you want to build an rpm yourself, this should work: wget http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/nmh.git/plain/build_nmh sh build_nmh -drv -b 1.7-release and respond to the prompts. The RPM will be put in the RPM/RPMS/ directory below the installation. David
Packages for EL8 distros?
Hey all - I'm in the process of standing up a new Alma Linux 8.6 server for the company's forseeable future, and I was wondering if you had plans to distribute a new nmh package into EPEL for RHEL 8-based distros, or if I need to compile it myself for this particular build? Hoping for the former, obviously, but - the boss sure lves his MH email, and uses nmh to navigate it. -- Tom Spettigue Staff Engineer (720) 406-5269 Zonit Structured Solutions www.zonit.com OpenPGP_0xF838B5B45D794B26.asc Description: OpenPGP public key OpenPGP_signature Description: OpenPGP digital signature
Plans for an RHEL 8 package?
Hey all - I'm working on a new Alma Linux 8.6 server for the company, and my boss sure does loove his MH mail, and uses NMH to manage it. I was wondering if there are any plans to compile NMH into a package in the EPEL repo for EL8, so we can install it via our package manager? -- Tom Spettigue Staff Engineer (720) 406-5269 Zonit Structured Solutions www.zonit.com OpenPGP_0xF838B5B45D794B26.asc Description: OpenPGP public key OpenPGP_signature Description: OpenPGP digital signature
