Thank you again. Nearly working! I am now using
\(.*\):.*
but it displays all functions except when there is a gap between the function
name and the bracket (permitted by the compiler so no error when I declare
things
sometimes this way), eg

function abc (param1 : string): boolean;

Thank you for the feedback, Joel.

I admit that the title of this thread is not quite readable, but I think at
least it's understandable!

I'm dispointed by the number of feedbacks for this release. Is there anyone
out there does care about it?

Don

is there a way to have notepad++ do nothing when ctrl+shift+z is entered? Clipx
is a separate clipboard management program, and I've used it plenty with
previous
versions of n++

We're too busy using it, shh, stop distracting me :p

I havn't found any issues with it.

I would say most people would only complain if they had an issue.

Maybe you will have to code some bugs for the next release, so you get more
people complaining :p

I do have one question though...

Why can't a set the shortcut for 'delete line' to Shift + Del ? That's what
i'm used to in Visual Studio, but can't do it in N++

But... I have it set to Ctrl + Shift + Del, which is basically the same thing,
so not worried really.

When is the next version coming out? I wrote my own CSS rules for this plugin,
but have no way to save it, so that it loads every time a open a css file.

I don't know how to do this, but I would like it! Have been frustrated by this

How do you make this macro? For me, it doesn't seem to record my action of
clicking
on the next tab.

Hi I've been using the editor since 3.3 and it's a really handy tool. However
I noticed the search algorithm that NP++ uses might be suboptimal. It is *much*
slower when NP++ searches a string in a medium size text files , for example,
from hundreds KB to a few MB, than other popular editors do, like UltraEdit,
Emacs, or even notepad comes with Windows.
I have a build log file of size 1.04MB, and searching a 4-char string in it
using windows notepad finishes instantly, while NP++ takes 30 seconds (and
freezes
during searching) on my core2duo.
I have not accessed NP++ source code and have no idea what algorithm it
currently
uses. I noticed there is no change on searching speed up to 4.1.2. There are
quite some very fast substring searching algorithms out there that can be
utilized.
I am wondering if searching speed can be improved in further releases?
Thanks for the excellent work done!

Something to try, to start:

You might want to look at config.xml in your %APPDATA%\Notepad++ or Notepad++
installation directory. Look at the attribute "AppPosition" and try toggling
the "isMaximized" setting between "yes" and "no". You might also want to reduce
the size of the width and height if it is the same as your max screen real
estate.

And you will probably need to edit config.xml with some editor other than
Notepad++;
Notepad++ would probably overwrite the config.xml changes when you close it.

Maybe the last open instance of the older Notepad++ might have been maximized
before you installed 4.1.2 over it. --Joel

If you are primarily interested in saving to your desktop, here are a couple
of workarounds to try in the meantime:

http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1741075&forum_id=331754

I suggest using both. The first can be done to the Notepad++ icon on the
desktop
to force it to default to the Desktop subdirectory, which is normally this in
Windows XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\<yourUserLogonName>\Desktop

(I understand that Windows Vista uses C:\Users. Look in there for a possible
desktop directory for your "username".)

Second tip: in Windows XP you can open the C:\Documents
and Settings\<yourUserLogonName> directory in Windows Explorer, then
right-click-drag
the Desktop directory icon to your Notepad++ installation directory and drop
it there (or in whatever directory it is always showing when you attempt to
open a file) and select "Create shortcuts here" from the popup menu that
appears.

This will put the Desktop shortcut in the directory that you see when you try
to open or save a file. Rename that shortcut to be "_Desktop" so that it will
move to the top of the file list when the alphabetical sort (the default) is
used.

The second tip is for those times you open a document directly by
double-clicking
it in Explorer or on the desktop. Your desktop will only be one extra click
away. --Joel
