[ns] ns2 wireless+wired MULTICAST Cenario
Hi everyone, I am trying to create a MULTICAST cenario with wired and wireless nodes. I create a simple cenario like this, where (W0..W2) are the wired node, BS the Base Station and MH the Mobile Host: W0 W1 \ / \/ W2 | BS MH I have set the multicast protocol as Dense Mode (DM) and the ad hoc routing protocol whith NOAH. I got MULTICAST working in the wired domain but I can't send data, even unicast data, to the mobile node. Does anyone ever did something like that? How can I make this work? What changes in NS I have to make. Could anyone give me some examples or tell me where to find something about this? I'm using ns-allinone-2.31 Thanks in advance -- João Mateiro [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[ns] How can I add some entry to Trace File.
Dear All, Hi, would you please help me about: 1- How can I add some entry to trace file in my c++ source code? 2- How can I use trace file for analysing? Im waiting to your reply. thanks a lot. Re: [ns] where is the hdr_flags constructed?
Hi All, I am facing a serious problem when I run NS-2 simulations of IEEE 802.11bextending over 200 seconds with cbr traffic rate of each node = 11Mbps and number of nodes = 50. The process is killed after around 100 seconds of simulation. This occurs even if I turn off all traces. Any clues will be helpful. Moreover, some papers on IEEE 802.11 report NS-2 simulations extending for 3000 seconds. I am never able to run simulations over so long a duration on Duo-core Intel processors with 1 GB RAM. If you have any experiences, please help. Thanks in advance. Regards, Debarshi

[ns] Mobile networks, bidirectional links, NS-2 patches, etc
Hi, I'll start with the last question first. A lot of the patches supplied for NS-2 are for specific versions and don't patch cleanly against the most recent version. I'm currently working on a project that uses various low-to-medium bandwidth links and need some of the patches out there. I'm forward-porting what I can, but without detailed familiarity with the internals, I can't be 100% certain the porting is correct. Is there a guide on how to do this? Or, since I can't be the only one in this situation, is there a site where I can obtain updated patches? Now onto bidirectional links. I have been asked to simulate a network in which the total bandwidth (up plus down) is a constant, but how it is divided is variable. I don't know of any pre-existing element that has this characteristic. Is this something I will need to define as a patch, or is there something I've missed I can reuse? Last, but not least, the problem space includes a wireless mobile component which may be received by multiple locations. There's a fair bit more on the backend, but I think I have that part covered. The part I'm unsure on is how to transition between receivers. Suggestions on how to do this would be welcome. Jonathan Day Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your home page. http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs
[ns] How to calculate the Primary/Backup path lifetime in a wireless network?
Hi, I am working on Backup Route construction for a single path routing protocol in ns2. want to know how to get the primary path or backup path lifetime. I used 10 nodes in my simulation using AODV protocol. Plz tell me one solution to calculate the lifetime of the primary or backup path in the network. - This email was sent using TCEMail Service.
