[ns] segmentation fault with dsr

2008-10-07 Thread sriram balakrishnan

i tried to simulate the wireless1.tcl file given in marcs tutorial and ran
it for 50 nodes and 20 connections but when the protocol is set to dsr it
gives segmentation fault any idea why

[ns] AODV and OLSR with Multiple Interface Support

2008-10-07 Thread Massimo Reineri

Dear All,

I would compare the performances of traditional AODV and OLSR manet routing
protocols with the correspective versions able to provide multiple interface
support as explained in the document Adding Multiple Interface Support
(http://personales.unican.es/aguerocr/files/ucMultiIfacesSupport.pdf) written
by Ramon Aguero Calvo.
Now my question is: Is it possible to retrive the source code for AODV and
OLSR modified to implement the multiple interface support? If the answer will
be yes, please let me know from where I can download it.
Thank you in advance.

Best regards,
Massimo Reineri

[ns] accessing ifq from ll.cc

2008-10-07 Thread Rafiq Shaikh

Hi,

I did search thru the archives of this mailing list but could not find
resolution to my problem so sending this email.

In my ad-hoc wireless simulation I am using Queue/DropTail/PriQueue.
From LL I am trying to access the ifq so that I can lookup for a particular
type of packet in the ifq.

Before I can write any code to lookup in ifq I wanted to see if the ifq_
has a valid value in LL.

In function void LL::recv(Packet* p, Handler* /*h*/)
I added below statement to print the value of ifq_.
printf(ifq = %d\n, (unsigned int)ifq());
This always prints value 0.

Does it mean that the LL does not have a corresponding ifq?
Interesting fact is that the simulation completes and I could see that
the data packets were sent out by that node.

Is this right way to access ifq from within LL?
Any idea on how to access ifq from within ll.cc?

I would appreciate your help on this one.

Regards,
-Rafiq.

[ns] Can one simulate very large topologies in NS?

2008-10-07 Thread Vaishali Sadaphal

Hi All,

Is it possible to simulate a network of very large number of nodes in NS?
One of my topologies has 500 nodes and another one has about 50,000
nodes.

Any experience with simulation time, memeory problems, with large number
of nodes?

Thanks

[ns] IPQit, MPLS and ATM using NS2

2008-10-07 Thread Munder Shuhumi

Dear All, I am an MSc student writing a dissertation to compare QoS between IP
over ATM and IP over MPLS. i am intending to use NS2 and came across a
published paper about IPQit containing details of the functionality for this
package. i tried to find the package on the internet to no avail and was
wondering if you can please send me the link to the download location. Best

[ns] Variable latency and loss rate

2008-10-07 Thread J S

Hello
I would like to induce variable latency and loss rate in my simulation.
or transient/persistent congestion.
I plan to use GT-ITM to generate topology, but it only gives static
latencies.

Can I bind some failure rate with some links /nodes
Does any one have any idea (or prototype) to use variable latency and loss
rate in the network?
Or any other pointer which I can follow

Thanks a lot for the help
